Lips - Glosses, Lipsticks and Balms!!

Hello lovely ladies!!

So with Christmas going on I went away to go and stay with family and realised that I had taken a lot of lip products with me for a little stay, I always thought that I didn't have all to many products for my lips except for balms but was I wrong seeing as what I'm going to show you isn't even quarter of my collection.
I did accumulate 3 of what I'm going to show you while I was away though, so theres 3 more to add to my box full of lip stuff!! I wasn't even all to keen on to much colour on my lips up until the end of this year I just stuck to balms and clear or very little colour glosses.

Glosses, Lipsticks and Balms!!

This is not my arm :)

So here are swatches and very wonky ones at that of all the glosses and lipglosses that are pictured above except for the balm type ones! They are...
The Body Shop- Lip and Cheek stain in Bronze Shimmer
MUA - Lip gloss in shade 2
17 - Ultimate Volume Gloss in Pink Ice
Avon - Plump Pout in Natural Peck
MUA - Lip Gloss in shade 4
Barry M - Lip Gloss in Toffee
Soap & Glory - Sexy Mother Pucker in Pink Apricot
GOSH - Cool Lip Jam in 102
Bourjois - Lipstick in Corail orfevre
MUA - Lipstick in shade 12
Avon - Anew Lip Plumping conditioner ( Barely visible, lip tone coloured with little shimmer in )

My favourite ones out of these have got to be -
Barry M - it glides on so silky, its not tacky and actually has quite a long lasting ability and also has the most amazing smell.
MUA (both of them) Shade 2 is more of a see through gloss but gives a nice red tint to the lips leaving them looking full and glossy, its non tacky and has good staying ability. Shade 4 is a more intense colour with less shine but still a glossy feel, also non tacky and good staying ability... For lip glosses I picked up for £1 each I rate them very highly.
Avon - I have nearly used all of this (as you will see in the next picture) but I find it to be one of the better products from Avon, it leaves your lips feeling full and really replenished after using it. It instantly hydrates my lips and they feel softer for hours afterwards, a good base to put other lip products over.

I do love all of the above pictured though even my newbies ;)

Lip Conditioning!

From left to right -
Me to You - Lip balm
Champneys - Moisture miracle rescue balm
Sleek - Pout polish in Pink Cadillac
Avon - Anew lip plumping conditioner

I know what your thinking she showed the Avon one up there but it comes in both of the categories here and I wont speak about it again as I already did that and I also put the Sleek pout polish in here too because its very moisturising and although it has colour its more something I would use for a hit of moisture and colour as I'm sure many of you do.

Champneys Moisture Miracle Rescue Balm - I have mentioned this before in my post a few of my favourite things and it really is a miracle balm to say the least, a really good friend of mine gave this to me at the very beginning of the year so I don't know how much it costs or if I could even get it anymore but I'm not even half way through the small tub and I use it all the time!! It works on lips and other dry areas of the body but on your lips they are instantly moisturised, soothed and protected.
Me to You Lip Balm - I just thought this was cute when I saw it and bought it plainly for that fact but it is a really nice balm that smells like shea butter and is cute and pinky but comes out completely clear.
Sleek Pout Polish - I have only had this since I got my sleek goodies for Christmas but I am already in love, the smell is so amazing and when I put it on it gives me a good pop of colour with instant moisture that lasts for a good while.

Also this has nothing to do with lips but when I was out shopping me and Panga got these really cute metal names made, They cost £3 each and I think they are really cute and you can pop pictures in behind them too :)

What are your favourite lip balms, glosses and lipsticks? Do you have a favourite colour?
I'm always looking to expand my collection and the colours I use as I'm growing to really love colour on my lips now so all suggestions would be welcome :)

See ya ladies

Festive treats!!!

Hello ladies!!

How are you all? Hope you all had a FANTASTIC Christmas!!

I had one of the most relaxed Christmases I have had in years followed by a manic boxing day full of crazy family fun, jokes and continuous laughter!
I also enjoyed getting all my presents and I still haven't finished receiving because I have yet to see some of my other family.... So more excitement to come!!

So this post is basically just to show you some of the things I got for good old Christmas, I'm just going to show pictures of some of my faves and then just tell you about the rest...

Cheryl Cole - Through my Eyes

I was so excited to get this, its actually lucky I haven't bought it for myself a long time ago! I love Cheryl so much she is one of my icons and I think she is truly AMAZING!!!
Its more pictures than words but it is laid out so beautifully, cant wait to read it :)

Black bag from Accessorize and Snake skin purse (not sure where from, no tag)

I love this bag, its big enough to fit everything I need in but small enough not to feel like I'm dragging a case around with me plus its in Black and you can never go wrong with that... It can also be dressed up or down due to its non fussy detail.
The purse when I saw it I let out a little squeal, I love animal print to the point of it being an obsession its big enough to fit everything I need in it and also has a little coin section at the front for all that loose change I always have hanging about.

Floral Secrets - Bathing Roses
Schwarzkopf - BC Hairtherapy Colour Save Treatment
Champneys - Aqua Therapy Purifying Spa Treatments
Champneys - Water Mint Shower Gel
Adorn and Adore - Make up palette

These are just a few small gifts I received.. The bath roses are so nice Ive had some like these before, hair treatment is my all time favourite one! The other stuff I have never used before but I do like Champneys products so I expect great things from them and also the make up palette I have never heard of this brand so I will see what its like but I think the packaging is so cute!

Pink Beaded Bracelets and a Silver Twisted Ring

I love beads and these ones are really quite nice and in a pale pink too so they go with quite a lot and the ring I am in love with... I love odd jewellery and things that not many people will have so this is a perfect example of something that is extremely me!

Sleek - Storm Palette
Sparkle Palette
Pout Polish in Pink Cadillac

I am ashamed to say I don't own any Sleek products well until now!! I cant wait to try these out and I have been using the Pout Polish since I got in and couldn't be happier with it!

I also got a few more bits like a silver, pink pearl and diamante watch, Gok Wan - Work your wardrobe, Jane Austen's guide to dating (a book) Gosh - Green smokey eye effect set (here that I had bought for someone) Simple gift set - Cleansing Lotion, Light Moisturiser and Facial Toner, Perfume, Make up and Nail varnish sets oh and some wine glasses.

I will try and get back into the swing of things now that Christmas is over but I do have good old New Year to look forward to, although that barely takes over your life like Christmas does.

Did anyone get what they want this year? What was your favourite present?

Have a nice night ladies ;)

Boots 17..

Hey!

Yesterday I popped to do my last few gifts and had to have a look in Boots for a gift for someone but ended up getting myself a couple of bits from their 17 range.

Boots 17 Lasting Finish Nail Varnish in Midnight Sapphire £2.99
Boots 17 Ultimate Volume Lip Gloss in Pink Ice £3.99
Boots 17 Glam Rocks Eye Palette (Various colours) Free when spending £6

I just think when boots do offers like these they are worth picking up and for a snip at £6.98 for the whole lot, the eye palette was the main thing that I wanted because I think it looks really nice and has some really good colours inside although the colour list on the box is not how it is laid out inside the palette....

The colours as stated on the box....
Mardi Gras
Glitter Spirit
Punky Purple
Glitter Style Queen
Darkness
Night Sky

I think they are all really nice colours and quite neutral with just a little hint of shimmer and also good colours to be able to mix together, I love the roses printed on the top which makes me not want to use it but I will be :) I don't really own anything from the 17 range so I will see how this lot go.

Do any of you use 17? Whats your favourite make up brand?

Purple Nails Sadly Fails!

Hiya!

So I'm in love with purple, my Blackberry is purple, my bedroom is purple, my favourite shoes are purple, my make up case is purple.. I have even dabbled in dying my hair purple too! I kind of make it my mission to buy everything I like in purple as long as it looks good in it and don't worry I don't have a garish collection of purple make up, I actually have none! (note to self - Invest in some purple woman!!).

I really love purple nails so when I saw Rimmel 60 Seconds nail varnish in 610 Pompous I instantly fell in love, Its a gorgeous deep purple with little silver specks for that festive feel.

Rimmel 60 Second Nail Varnish in 610 Pompous!

Rimmel say - 'A one coat nail polish, 1 stroke express brush for 1 second easy application and dries in less than 60 seconds'

What I say - For one its more like a 3 coat quite a few stroke application, although the flat brush did make applying it a lot easier than with your normal standard brush. The colour is a lot less shimmery on than in the bottle which is not much of a complaint as I do love the colour, it did dry fairly quickly but was still tacky after a minute. Also it chips fairly easy I had mine on not even 8 hours and it started chipping so I wont be buying it again as I think there are far better out there.

What colours do you guys like to wear? What are your favourite nail varnishes?

Bye for now ladies :)

What do you do when good dye turns bad??

Helloo my lovelies!!

So its no secret to anyone that I dye my hair LOADS!! I like to keep my hair dark because that's my natural colouring, although I did go through the whole hi-lighting my hair every 4 weeks stage when I was like 15/16.
This year I have been loads of colours from Red at the beginning of the year Purple in the middle and back to Red (Throw in every shade of brown too) although admittedly now its more a plummy red than a red red!

The colour I dye my hair the most!

Thing is my hair was just dyed dark over and over again and I was starting to get a lot of colour build up even though I would just refresh my roots and pull the colour through at the end but dye is dye and it does add up ending in disastrous results when you re-dye your hair another colour (It goes really dark on the built up bits and the colour or close to the colour it should be on the bits that are fine)

I will just go to Superdrug or Boots to pick up a colour seeing as dying my hair is normally a lets do it now its just popped in my head I want this colour thing.
I knew what colour I wanted my hair so when Pascal went to the shop for me to save me hobbling there he picked it up for me, I chose Loreal Feria Plum Power intense red P37 a colour I have had before and applied over my dyed hair before and had no troubles with now here comes my disaster... I applied it and what I stated above had happened :( even though it wasn't as bad as I'm making it out to be it was a disaster to me... I had this for about 3 weeks and every time I washed my hair the light bits got lighter but the dark bits stayed the same so was thinking I need to get to the wholesalers and get colour remover NOW!! Instead when I was looking round superdrug with my mum I found Colour B4 so thought id give it a try so bought the extra strength one along with another Feria Plum Power and here is what happened...

The colour Colour B4 turned my hair...

The colour my hair is now!

The Colour B4 didn't turn my hair back to its natural colour instead a very light gingery brown but it did get rid of the awful dye job and leave me with an even base colour to re-dye my hair on and now I am very pleased with the end result.
Colour B4 really doesn't smell to great but it did the job so will forgive the smell and didn't leave my hair feeling stripped of any oils or feeling porous.. The feria on the other hand smells really nice and when mixed up you get a really good amount of dye that could easily do a whole head of below shoulder hair although if you have longer and thick hair I would get 2, also it doesn't come with a conditioner but a shampoo and I prefer to have conditioners in my dye kits but it left my hair feeling really strong and shiny amazing seeing what I had just subjected it to. Both these products have pleased me and Colour B4 is a good alternative to a salon colour correction.

Have any of you had any bad hair days or dye jobs? What colour dye do you use if you dye your hair? Ever tried Colour B4?

I just want to thank every single one of my followers for supporting me in starting my blog it really means a lot to me and all the nice things you guys have said over the last 2 weeks I really appreciate it :)

Red nails? I think I may have found my perfect one!!

Good morning!!

So the other day I was reading the lovely Sirya's blog over at Lipgloss and Leopard Print where she had the most gorgeous red nails and I was quick to tell her how reds just didn't suit me but alas I think I may have actually found one I truly like!! Its not a bright red but its a deep red with some definite pinky undertones and I really do love it.

Ciate Paint Pots in Dangerous Affair 013
£9

Sorry for the really rubbish Pictures, My camera is dying :(

I didn't buy mine as it was a freebie off a magazine a little while ago but it retails for £9, I was umming and arring over trying it for ages and finally took the plunge as my little girl wanted us both to paint our nails with it... It goes on well, I applied 2 coats and it has a really glossy finish. The brush is really nice to use long bristles and a long handle which I prefer to the short ones and also the look of the bottles are absolutely cute with their pretty little bows, I will definitely be trying out more of these and buying a bottle of this when it runs out.

Have any of you tried the Caite paint pots? Whats your favourite colour nails?
Let me know!

Have a lovely day girlies only 5 more sleeps til Christmas!!

Snow days!!

Hellooo everyone!!

So in good old London town it has been snowing although I know all over the UK it has been but snow is a very rare thing here in London and it's really nice to see, although as a city we don't seem to cope very well with it and go into shut down mode but its pretty to look at :)

The view from my bedroom window
20 Minutes before it was grass and road!

So all this cold weather plays havoc with my skin making it all dry and I really hate that so I pop a bit of Bio-Oil in my bath and it really makes an improvement to how my skin feels afterwards, I also use it on a couple of scars that I have to try and reduce the look of them and so far so good as they are looking lighter and less noticeable which is good. It can also be used as an all over body oil but I'm not to keen on the feel of it after using it like that so I just like to stick to a good moisturiser.

Bio-Oil 200ml £17.95 or around that from Superdrug
I bought this one on offer for £11 a little while ago, so always look out for offers like that.

What are your favourite winter skin savers? Whats the weather like where you are?

Keep warm ladies and have a lovely night :)

Johnson's how I love thee.... Avon how you dissapoint me!

Today I popped into Superdrug with my mum and saw that all Johnson's products were half price!! I just had to grab a couple of my favourites seeing as I was running out and at half price why not?
I ended up getting just 2 which were Dreamy skin relaxing body cream and the 24 hour moisture hand cream which I both love.

Johnson's Dreamy Skin Relaxing Body Cream
£1.49 at Superdrug

This is more like a body butter a really thick and creamy consistency that's non greasy, goes on easily and really absorbs into the skin leaving it feeling really soft with a nice soft soothing fragrance.
It's designed for use as part of your nightly routine and to help you get a better nights sleep, I'm not sure if it actually does help me get a better nights sleep but definitely makes me feel more relaxed.

Johnson's 24 Hour Moisture Hand Cream
99p at Superdrug

This has got to be my favourite hand cream EVER!! I love the fact that its so cheap and really does the job, most hand creams either leave my hands feeling like they need a good wash or like they sucked all the moisture out of them and left me with damp out of the bath feeling hands which I'm sure nobody likes the feeling of!.
This glides on like its putting a coating of silk over my hands and absorbs well into the skin without leaving any greasy residue, my hands are moisturised for ages after using this and it smells really nice sort of girly but not in a really overpowering way.

Urrrggghhh!!

Now I realise that I really don't like Avon hair products! Like promised I said I would tell you how I get on with the curl defining gel when i decided to wear my hair curly and here it is.

Avon Advance Techniques Curl Defining Gel
£4.50 but bought in a 3 for £5 offer

Where do I even start? I was scared to even try it after my last attempt with their hair products (click here if you want to know how that was) but I thought why not, the only way I'm going to know is by trying. It feels non sticky when you put it in your hands so I was thinking good start and it smells nice too so even better, then I applied it to my hair.... dum, dum, dum It was awful for something that claims 'to separate curls, adding definition and bounce without weighing hair down' it did none of these things my curls seemed to gather in a sticky matted mess along with looking really bitty. I waited for my hair to dry fully just to see what the end result would be and it was a dull looking matted mess nothing close to bouncy separated curls, I had to immediately rinse it off my hair and start from scratch all over again... Deciding to just go back to my John Frieda Dream Curls spray and my Osis Loopy curl cream.

If any of you know of a good brand for curls please let me know :)

Have a lovely night girlies xxx

My weight loss journey and my new facial friend!!

Hello you beautiful bunch!!

I just thought I would tell you that I am going to embark on losing weight again, I've previously lost a lot of weight before and in total since having my daughter I have lost just over 6 stone although in 2008 it was a total of nearly 8 and being very close to my goal. But 2009 saw me just maintain where I was, then I got a Christmas temping job in a supermarket and that included grabbing crap food here and there on my breaks which continued until I stopped working there in September, there was also the love I started to have of going out with my friends for meals and drinking the wrong things on nights out which all added to me gaining nearly 2 stone. Although about 7 pounds of this has been in the last 6/7 weeks since I did my leg in and haven't been able to be that active coupled with the fact I have been eating easy things because of it too.

So I have decided to start Food Optimising again because its the only thing that actually seems to work for me, I learnt how to do it when I joined my lovely friend Emma's Slimming world group and quite frankly I don't think I could ever do another diet after doing this one!.
Theres no silly point counting, eating small portions or counting calories its just about eating the right things together, making sure you get your daily fiber, dairy and keep all fats to a minimum... You can basically eat what you want or a very good alternative to it and how much you want (I really don't know why I don't follow it all the time) You also get these things called Syns everyday to use on treats which can be anything from a cheeky vodka and coke to a chocolate on top of what your eating.
I know I sound crazy wanting to do it now with Christmas around the corner but my thinking is no better time to start so I don't start adding to the pounds I've already gained, I will try and keep you regularly updated with how its going :)

My new facial friend!!

Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub

What Neutrogina say about this - An uplifting daily facial scrub for clear, fresh, healthy skin with powerful microclear technology and exfoliating beads to unclog pores and help eliminate spots and blemishes. It can also be used everyday without over drying the skin.

What I say about this - It does what it says on the tube!! Since using it my skin feels a lot more brighter and invigorated, also the redness that I was starting to get has subsided and I haven't seen one spot. My skin is left feeling really soft and the smell is really uplifting. It has fine granules to scrub unlike some with massive ones that feel like they are taking half your face with it, I will definitely be making this my face wash of choice for the time being.

I have always loved Neutrogena for their face washes, they are the only ones that don't seem to cause me irritation or feel like my face is burning up and they always seem to keep my spots and blemishes at bay although my skin does get used to a certain type of one over a few months so I do regularly change which one I use but stay within brand. I picked these one's up at Superdrug and they were on offer at 2 for £5 or £4.49 each, which I think is an absolute bargain.

Anyway I'm going to stop my rambles now, let me know if any of you have tried diets and if they have worked and whats your favorite face wash to use

A little goes a long way...

Hello my gorgeous readers!!

Can you tell I'm in a good mood? That's because I am full of Christmas spirit, this is my favourite time of year I can tell you... I love everything about it the cold (yes I did say the cold) twinkling lights, Christmas carols, smell of real Christmas trees, people being that extra bit kinder, Christmas fates, nativity plays oh and some of the great offers that come about in the shops at this time of year ;)

So a lot of people choose to do Christmas on a budget or just have to do Christmas on a budget for one reason or another, which is what I'm doing this year. I've practically done all of my shopping because like I said I haven't been able to get out much with my leg so did it all on line and I have picked up some great offers along the way.

GOSH Get the look - Green smokey eye effect
£7.99

This was from Superdrug and was part of the 3 for 2 offer they have on gifts I got this free when I bought my Daughter and another family members present as it was the cheapest, it contains

Quattro eye shadow - Q32 Evergreen
Velvet touch eyeliner - Black ink
and
On stage cool lip jam - 102

Superdrug Naturals Bath and Body lotion Gift Sets
£2.49 each

These were also from Superdrug and on the same offer so all 3 of these cost just less than a fiver and they contain

A shower gel, body lotion and a puff sponge in the fragrances of
Cranberry and Pomegranate (Red)
Coconut and Shea butter (Green)
Mango and Papaya (Orange)

Avon - Build your own gift set (Before and After)
£8

This comes with everything you need to make your own gift set, Right from the little metal basket to all the products and the bow! It contains

Gold metal basket, tissue paper, plastic wrapping and bow
Strawberry sorbet bubble bath 500ml
Mystique shower gel 250ml
Strawberry and Guava room and linen spray 125ml
Signature silk body lotion 250ml
Signature silk hand cream 75ml
Footworks deep moisturising cream 75ml
Planet spa Japanese sake and rice illuminating cream 50ml

I also picked up some stuff for men like some Lynx sets which were £4 in Morrisons but £6.99 in Superdrug/Boots, I also created little beauty bag type things for my sisters which were really inexpensive but a nice touch seeing as they are getting to an age where they are experimenting with make up and such.. They contain things like Nail varnish, eye shadows, lipglosses, nail files etc.
Don't want to give to much away otherwise they will know what they are getting!

As you can see you still can buy some really nice things for cheap, I also got other things like
Toy Story 3 for £7 as my food shop was more than £30 in Sainsburys
Lacoste Touch of Pink gift set for £19 which included 30ml of the perfume and a 50ml
shower gel and body lotion (The perfume itself was £23.99) Saving a fiver and gaining more for my money
Silver sapphire earrings for £5 instead of £30 just because i spent over a certain amount at Avon
Which are all presents that could of cost a lot more!

Hope this gave you some good ideas for Cheap last minute gifts if you haven't done all of your Christmas shopping already and what have you been buying?

A few changes

Hello my lovelies, just a quick little post to say that you might have noticed a few changes in my blogs layout that's because today I have had the time to play about with it. Hope it hasn't put any of you off and i hope you enjoy the new layout.

My new found Cheap and Cheerful love is MUA, Beauty on a budget!!

First of all I just have to say how deeply saddened I am that poor One Direction didn't win the Xfactor but I am happy that Matt did as I think he deserved it most of all :)

So today I headed into town crutches in tow with my designated bag carrier Pas to do a bit of Christmas shopping because there was still a few presents to pick up and I had to take back my dress to New Look that I mentioned in an earlier post (The reason I hate internet shopping for things like this and because of my leg injury most of my shopping has had to be done this way ) While looking for presents in superdrug I thought I would pick up a few nail varnishes but a few turned into a couple of lip glosses and some eye shadows too but I didn't go on a massive spending spree of expensive products I actually went on a pound spurge of MUA (Makeup Academy, superdrugs £1 make up range) and they were on 3 for 2 so it was even cheaper, I even picked my younger sisters up some bits as I decided to make them beauty bags for Christmas.
I first tried MUA a few months back when I was going on a night out and needed an eye shadow urgently and didn't want to splurge out as the colour I wanted I already had so bought one then, it stayed put the whole night so I was impressed then I also tried one of their nail varnishes as my base coat for my Barry M nail effects polish and was impressed yet again at the quality for £1, I was eager to try more :)

So here is what i bought today.....

MUA polishes in shades 7, 1, 14,13 and 10
Also what they look like painted on

MUA polishes in shades 9, 17, 15 and 12

MUA Lip Gloss in shades 3 and 4

MUA Wand glosses in shades 2 and 4

Glosses in order of shades above

MUA Lipstick in shade 12

MUA Shadows in shades 4, 11 and 3 Pearl
and shade 17 Matt

MUA Glitter eyeliner in shades 5 and 10

This whole lot cost me a mere £14 and including my sisters treats I spent £20 on 30 products which I think is amazing as well as from what i've seen they are not all to bad and have the quality of something that costs more than £1! I will let you know how I get on with them when I have tried them all out fully but for people on a budget this could be the answer we have all been looking for.

Have any of you tried MUA? Let me know what your feedback on their products are if you have

My Saturday Love :)

So for the last couple of days I have been writing Christmas cards and basically resting my leg which I had an accident with over 6 weeks ago and still isn't healed. Its a pain in the butt as it limits me doing loads of things because I damaged ligaments, cartilage, muscle and its going to take a good 6 months or so until I'm fighting fit again but it wont be getting in the way of me getting in the Christmas spirit.
Well anyway its Saturday and that means that it was Xfactor time, my lovely little One direction boys got through to tomorrows final which I'm so excited for because I am backing them all the way to be the winners this year, so everyone go and vote for them!!

But today I just wanted to share with everyone my love of today and that is Ellie Gouldings version of Your Song....

Love, love loving Barry M nails!

Today I got Barry M Instant Nail Effects Nail Paint and couldn't wait to try it!! I had read so many great things about it and saw how good it looked on in pictures I was itching for the chance to call a bottle my own... Finally today I can and I can also tell you I absolutely LOVE it!!!

The Nail Varnish

Make Up Academy Nail Varnish in Shade 15
Barry M Instant Nail Effects Nail Paint in Black

I used the Make Up Academy varnish just as a base coat, although for a nail varnish that only cost £1 it went on very well and I applied 2 coats for full even coverage. My only complaint about it would be that the brush is a little to short, stubby and quite thin so takes a few strokes to actually cover the nail but other than that a really good nail varnish with great pigmented colour, after waiting for that to fully dry I applied one coat of Barry M Instant Nail Effects like it says and waited for the magic to happen.... Literally seconds later it had and I was looking down at a Black and Pink cracked effect nails which I absolutely love! The polish itself is quite thin and has to be worn over a base coat, the brush gives a great even coverage and the left over black bits are highly pigmented, no finger is left the same so each time will be unique!

The finished result

Before and After

I'm really pleased with the end result and cant wait to play around with it over different colours!

What do you think of Barry M's new Instant nail effects?
