My Top 5... Songs!!

Hey girls!

So this one is a bit different as my top 5 is normally beauty based but I had an email off a lovely girl called Kelly asking me to do my top 5 songs and I thought seeing as music is another passion of mine I would love to do this one, I promise next week my top 5 will be lipsticks/glosses another request :)

Arctic Monkeys - Mardy Bum

I love the Arctic Monkeys, they are by far one of my favourite bands and this song is my all time favourite although it comes into close place with When the sun goes down. I am Mardy Bum in the words of many a person especially if you ask the boy this is what song he would pick to best describe me. I play this song when I am happy or sad and it always lifts my spirits!

Tinie Tempah - Pass Out

I love Tinie, I remember listening to him when he was bringing out songs when I was 17 and to add this man is AMAZING live!! This song I love just for the lyrics 'I've got so many clothes I keep some at my aunts house' and 'I drive past the bus I used to run for' don't get much better than that.

NDubz - Secrets

This song just feels like my life story so I really relate to it, it kind of makes me sad but also just makes me thankful for my dad and to try and make my relationship with my mum work. The lyric 'I don't trust so I don't get let down' is so true along with nearly every other lyric in it.

Adele - Someone like you

Adele I have always loved since I first heard Chasing Pavements, I think her voice and songs just speak words to not only me but to so many others too. When I first heard this song I burst into tears its just so powerful.

Lionel Richie - Easy like Sunday morning

This was my dads favourite song and I just remember him playing it at home, I love it because it brings back so many memories of him and how he was. Words can not explain how much my dad is missed but when I put on his old songs it can't help but bring a smile to my face.

I hope you have enjoyed my songs, I have so many more that I could list old and new but these were the first 5 that came to mind.

What are your favourite songs? Do you have an all time favourite?

Today I Went.... Shopping!!

Hello Lovelies!!

So today I did a little spot of shopping :)
It's been a really good day, had a spot of lunch a browse at MAC and I actually didn't like much that I saw plus the sales assistants were very rude so I decided not to buy the 2 lipstick's I wanted! Had a browse at Urban Decay and Benefit too dropping major hints as to which ones I like as a certain day for mothers is coming up and I couldn't think of a better gift to receive off my little princess.

So on to the exciting bit.... What I bought!

LUSH

Ex Factor
Happy Blooming
Honey I Washed The Kids
Creamy Candy
Sweet Lips Lip Scrub
Vanilla Fountain

I loved being in LUSH they let us play with everything! I think we spent a good hour smelling things and touching them, Panga was having the best time dropping ballistics into the water and the lady gave us some samples of face masks which I can't wait to try!

Primark

2 Vests White/Black
Floral and Diamante Grey Vest
Grey Printed T-Shirt

Pastel Eyesheer in Posie Pink
Ta Ta For Now Undereye Concealer
Liquid Gold Metallic Cream
Blusher Powder in Coral

I needed some new vests so just picked them up and then the 2 tops caught my eye so I though oh why not! I got the make up because I have read a few reviews on them that say that some of it is quite good and I was able to swatch these things before buying because in true Primark style there was loads of it out of the packets.

Boots

Soap & Glory Clean On Me Body Wash
Soap & Glory Off Your Face Cleansing Cloths
Soap & Glory Scrub Your Nose In It Facial Scrub/Mask

No7 Radiance Boosting Hot Cloth Cleanser

Boots have got 3 for 2 on loads of things at the moment so I thought now would be a time to grab some S&G bits that I am running out of and in true money saving style I paid or them first to get my £5 No7 Voucher so I could get the hot cloth cleanser for £4, bought this because I have heard great things about it and I did order Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish but it never turned up (Think my postie is a thief!) so thought this might do the trick :)

Shoe Shop

Grey Bag

Picked this up for £5 as I have been looking for a grey bag and thought seeing as I'm not going to be using it much this one would do the job oh and the lining is leopard print!

What have you been buying this month?

Stereotypes - You make me who I am from the words you say!

Hey guys!

So this is going to be a completely off topic post just because I think a few things need to be said as I couldn't sleep last night thinking about all this stuff.

So first of all I want to introduce you to the love of my life, you have all seen her before and she is...

Tapanga!

So lets get on to what I want to talk about and that is stereotypes...

I was a teenage mum I had Tapanga when I was 16 and I am not ashamed to say that as she is the most amazing child I know, she brightens up not only my day but also everyone elses day!
Now I have become to be quite offended by the stereotype of a teenage mum because I and many others I know do not fit into this category, people presume that we are slags and crave attention and love that we haven't received at home but for me and many others this couldn't be further from the truth, although I do know there are some that fit into the teen mum stereotype but it is far less than is made out!
I come from a loving caring family where I never wanted for anything and getting pregnant was an accident but with being a pregnant teen came a lot more stress than a older woman would probably encounter. I would be stared at, called a slag, told I'm only having a baby to live off the state and get a flat, did I know who the dad was? and many other horrible things. The thing is I wasn't a slag, I wasn't compensating for a love replacement, I wasn't going to be living off the state as my partner had a really good job and I sure as hell knew who my babies dad was and shock horror yes I was still with him!!
After having Panga the criticism didn't stop! I remember getting on the bus once and being called a slag and told that I had dropped out of school to have babies when actually I had finished school nearly a year before and had a job in my local hairdressers, people look at you when your child starts school too trying to decide if you are her sister or her mum and I was also asked before Tapangas teacher knew who I was if she was going to be meeting Tapangas parents anytime soon... How awkward for her hey!
Me and Pangas dad have been on our own with her since she was 4 weeks old (although we never had any help in them first 4 I'm just saying that's when we moved out) so everything she is becoming is down to us and that makes me so proud beyond any belief imaginable.
Still today I think to many people are quick to tar everyone with the same brush and theres a reason you hear about the bad stories because a story where everything turned out rosy and great wouldn't make good reading now would it?
Another thing for everyone who thinks that when you have a baby young your life is over I have to say that is the biggest bunch of bullshit I have ever heard, its only over if you let it. I have done so much since having her, I have been to college gained great qualifications, worked in some great places, go out most Friday nights, see my friends a lot, been on holidays... Everything! Pascal has a great job too and always has, he does very well at providing for his family and making sure that our daughters needs are met.

Finally this post isn't just about teen mums its about all stereotypes in general, for instance...
If your fat your a lazy slob who eats all day which for some is untrue, people could have things wrong with them that cause them to be like that and some people just can't seem to get to a healthy weight.. If your depressed or have to see a councillor your classed as mental... All youths are classed as twatty little thugs which can be true but there are a big minority of them that are not... If you like make up and pretty things your a superficial bimbo... The list of these things are endless, I guess what I am trying to say is that people shouldn't judge until they know fully what they are talking about and should definitely not judge based on stereotypes and statistics because there are a lot of people out there that a far from them.

Never judge a book by it's cover, read the first few chapters first!

I'm sorry if this post offends anyone in any way but I just had to get my point across as a lot of these issues bother me and I think maybe by shedding light on them people could start to act differently.

Show Me Some Eye ;)

Hey Girls!

So its nearing the end of the month and I am running out of things! I can't wait for tomorrow to come so I can spend on all the things I want and need.... Any suggestions of good offers and things to buy at the moment please tell me as I really want to indulge!

Anyway what I wanted to talk about today is this little beauty here...

MUA Eyeshadow in Shade 11 Pearl - £1 from Superdrug

If you remember when I first started blogging I mentioned MUA and for those of you who haven't read it or would like to read it you can here.

This shadow applies like a dream, it feels so buttery you wouldn't guess it cost a pound and is really blendable. It is so highly pigmented too, I just love it! To add it also stays put for a very long time with keeping the intensity of the colour.

After 6 hours wear

As you can see the above picture is after 6 hour wear and it has stayed pretty much intact to how I had applied it.
I own quite a few of these MUA shadows but a word of warning to you all, the ones that are pearl are so much better than the matte ones in every way, oh and they become quite addictive too ;)

Lastly today I wore my hair in this cute bun, its so nice to be able to tie my hair up again...

Yes that is tons of scattered make up you can see laying around EVERYWHERE!!

Hope you have all had an amazing day :)

Sleek Primer Palette

Hey Sugarplums!

So here is the latest offering from Sleek.
It's their Primer Palette, basically it is a palette full of eyeshadow primers in a variety of 12 colours and in true blogger style I have been trying these babies out.

I love the packaging of Sleek palettes and are always a welcomed addition to my dressing table.
The palette itself is designed to work with all other Sleek eyeshadow palettes which is a bonus because nearly all of us own one so we will have the right primer for the right colour and if not they also work with every other shadow out there.

I found them really easy to apply and I have gotten away with just wearing these as a cream eyeshadow too - Double the use for your money ;)
The colours are buildable too so if you are wanting to use them like that. it is a plus to know.
As a primer they help keep my eyeshadow in place all day and really bring the colour alive, it also helped to prevent the dreading creasing throughout the day.

Swatches

These were the best I could get sorry!

A closer look

Click picture to make bigger.

They all do have colour names but I am sure mine was printed incorrectly seeing as the purple was named Pink Frost and the green was called Peach so I wont tell you the colours.

Overall another great product from sleek that I will more than likely be making a permanent resident in my everyday make up regime.

Do any of you own this? Are you wanting to buy?
Will you buy?

As always leave a comment and let me know your thoughts

The LOOK Show!

Georgie's Picture!

Georgie's Picture!

So on Friday I attended The LOOK Show with the lovely Georgie as her +1, Georgie won tickets to go and after a little shout out on twitter to see if anyone would like to go with her she had chosen me.... Instantly so excited and then fear ran through me because I was ultimately going to be spending the day with a stranger but fear not Georgie is very lovely!

The show was held in Victoria House in Holborn which is just a stones throw away from my house, finding it was very easy although Georgie and I did walk past it at first. When we arrived we had to queue outside, this was the worst part not for waiting but for seeing all the seriously fashionable girls about and feeling a little inferior to them in the style stakes. Once inside we were greeted by Champagne, Canapes and a Chocolate fountain plus a very persistent little man trying to wrap ribbons around our wrists scented with perfume, I lost mine so many times I kept going back for another. After all of this the celebs started pouring in they included Jaime Winstone, Sophie Ellis Bexter, Marina Diamandis, Emma Willis, Keisha Buchanun, Lucie Jones and a few others that I recognised but didn't know their names (Celeb Fail!)
Shayne Ward was also there (He's our new best friend!) He was very friendly and Georgie got the shock of her life when she turned around to me whispering in his ear and then posing for a picture. I must say the highlight of my celeb spotting had to be the gorgeous Olivia Pelermo, she is absolutely stunning.

He smelt AMAZING!!! (Ahhhh)

After all that we were sent to be seated at the catwalk where the models were wearing this Spring/Summer key trends, they all looked amazing and although I wasn't a fan of some of the collections or pieces in them there were some amazing pieces all from highstreet stores including New Look, Monsoon, H&M, M&S, Uniqlo, River Island and more!
There was a little interval in-between the show where Alexis Jordan sang and we also got a LOOK goodie bag each.
I have so much more to say about the day and what I saw so I will proberly do another post in the next week or two about it!

Overall I had one of the most amazing days and got to meet some great girls including Lily from LLYMLRS and of course the lovely Georgie who I cannot thank enough for taking me along :)

Did any of you go to The LOOK Show?

My Top 5... Face Products!

Hello you gorgeous bunch!!
Today I am going to tell you what my top 5 face products are, these are products I go to all the time and have been using a lot over the last few weeks!

Avon Mousse Stick Foundation

I love this it is a stick foundation with a mousse whip in the middle that just blends amazingly and covers really well

E.L.F Complexion Perfection

I did a review on this a little while ago that you can read here
I love the way this evens out any redness or dark bags around my eye area.

Avon Magix Face Perfector

This can be used alone or under foundation, it really minimises my pores and gives my skin a smooth even base.

 Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

I think you all know how much I love this!
I would re-buy this again and again, it covers so well is an amazing colour match and just leaves me looking fresh.

E.L.F Makeup Mist & Set

This keeps my make up in place all day and just seems to make it stand out more than usual, it is also really nice to spritz on throughout the day to have an instant refresh.

This and That

Hey Girls!
Just thought I would do this little questions and answers post that I saw on the lovely Lizabelly's

1. What is your dream job?
I would love to work for a magazine in their Hair and Beauty department that is possibly where I would be happiest or my other dream is to be a Hair and Makeup artist maybe someones personal one?
2. What is your favourite fragrance for winter?
Well my all time favourite fragrance is Jean Paul Gaultier Classic, but I wear all my perfumes year round.
3. How do you take your tea/coffee?
Milky and 2 sugars
4. What is your most important beauty secret?
Keep your skin hydrated! From the inside out... Drink water and slap on the moisturiser.
5. If you had an all expenses paid vacation, where would you go?
A trip around the world!
6. If a genie popped up in your lap right now and offered you 3 wishes, what would you ask for?
Orient to win in the FA Cup tomorrow
To meet my older sister
That Tapanga would have a happy life
7. If you could only have breakfast, lunch, dinner or desert foods for the rest of your life, what would you pick?
Without a doubt it would be breakfast! I love breakfast foods plus you can eat them at any time of the day!
8. If you were Hello Kitty what colour hair bow would you wear?
Purple, couldn't be any other colour really!
9. What is your biggest makeup pet peeve?
Wrong shade of foundation! You see girls who look like ghosts and ill from a shade too light and then the ones that look like oompa lumpas with whatever it is they put on their face, there is no need for it!
10. If you could wear only one piece of jewellery for the rest of your life what would it be?

The ability to draw really well.
12. Which product will you continue to purchase?
My Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation!

No. I think it would prevent us from making choices in life and taking sudden opportunities that were given to us.
14. Who is your biggest celebrity crush? Include a picture!
I have a couple and they are both completely different, I will put both!

Channing 'Yummy' Tatum

Plan B

15. What made you start a blog?
I have been reading blogs for ages and seeing as a lot of my friends don't have a passion I do for all things beauty related I felt the need to be able to express myself somewhere and with people that have the same passions and interests as me.

Its complicated, it always is....

Hey everyone..

I need to get something off my chest as it is really bugging me and people that I know will just overreact about it if I talk to them, especially my mum.

So on Monday an old friend that I had a major falling out with got in contact with me and after umming and arring about whether to call her or not I did, we had a 2 hour emotional phone call about everything that had happened and how we had missed each other etc...
I met with her yesterday and it was lovely just like old times.

Now she was one of my best friends and someone that I had spent nearly everyday of the last 5 years with our kids are friends, we were friends and complete opposites but it worked so it was really nice to see her... I hope this wasn't just a flash in the pan little get together and our friendship can progress to get back on track.

I do have a problem with it though because this obviously rattled a lot of peoples cages that we were now talking as someone saw us together and thought that they could go out of their way to go straight to someone else and tell them about it, this then caused some serious issues for my friend with abusive text messages from this person and now I have kind of been thrown into my own personal little slump again about how everything is my fault.

I know I am not no angel in the whole falling out and I have never claimed to be but if I'm honest I really don't remember why we all did, I was really ill last year and I will be honest with you guys that I suffer from a severe form of depression and last year has got to be one of the lowest years I ever had.... I lost everything!
I didn't want to be around people, I was anxious, moody, distant and just basically a shit person when I look back on times that I can remember I know that I didn't like myself much and I didn't understand what was going on with myself so I didn't expect anyone else to be able to but I didn't expect these people that I loved and claimed to have been some of my best friends to use this all against me, especially when they knew what was happening.

It makes me upset and mad to think that they are a bunch of 20+ year olds and they are all acting like school kids, me and my friend spoke and sorted out our issues no one knows what was said in the conversation we had and quite frankly it is nobodies business either so why do people go out of their way to make it their business? Why do people that she's not even talking to now, people that got in the way of our friendship think its fine to go out of their way to contact her to be horrible when she hasn't spoken to them in ages? Why do they have to go ahead and call me nasty things just to be horrible?
I'm gonna be honest it has really gotten to me, I have spent the last 6 months rebuilding my life for 2 stupid people who I would of done anything for in the past to come and ruin it with all this crap.

When do people learn when to grow up? When do people stop making issues all about them? Why do people feel the need to go out of their way to cause trouble and hurt others?
Now that I think about how these people that I ranked so highly in my life could act like this its probably a good thing we are not friends, the thing that gets to me the most is how two faced and quick to stab you in the back someone could be especially since the day before they turned on you they said and I quote the exact words from her mouth " I love you so much Char! I have never had a friend like you before you are my best friend and no matter what anyone ever says about you I am always going to be here because I know who you are, what your like and your a good person. I love you so much!" She then kissed me on the cheek and gave me the biggest hug several hours later I lost her, famous last words hey!

If you got this far I'm impressed and I am so sorry that I just rambled on about a big massive bunch of crap nonsense that more than likely makes no sense at all to you, but thank you if you did read.

I will be back later with another post that is my normal upbeat self as I already feel miles better after writing this.

My Top 5... Eye Make Up!

Hello Sugarplums!

So every Sunday to replace The Sunday Hair Clinic I am going to be bringing you my Top 5 things, if you want to request me to do a certain 5 things just contact me and ask :)

Sleek Storm Palette

Most of us own one if you don't go and buy one!
It's so versatile and has a lovely range of neutrals, its my go to palette.

17 Glam Rocks Eye Palette

I got this for free just before Christmas when you bought £5 worth of make up from 17 and I'm so glad I did I have fallen in love with this.

GOSH Velvet Touch Eye Liner in Black Ink

I don't think there is a day that goes by that I don't wear eyeliner and this is my favourite out of all the pencil liners I have.

E.L.F Eyelid Primer

This helps my eye shadow look so much more pigmented and gives it really good staying power such a bargain too at £1.50

Maybelline Liner Express in Black

I have owned 5 of these and intend to keep on buying until they stop making them and I cry!
This is the deepest black liner I have ever found, the nib makes application so easy and precise plus it also lets you control how thick of a line you want, to top it all off it dries before you could say it's dried.

I didn't include Mascara in these because I just did a post on it and thought its not fair to just repeat something when something equally as great could get a look in.

What are your favourite eye products? Any Top 5's you would like to see?

So here's what we made...

The ones with the white sugar strands are strawberry and vanilla
and
the pink swirls are vanilla... Yum!

I actually bought these from Morrisons but we decorated them ourselves, they were £1.47, total bargain if you ask me seeing as you get everything to decorate them with as well.

We made so much more than whats here as well as our own cookies but I thought them ones looked the cutest and most fitting :)

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend

My Make Up Story

So Hayley over at Ladder in my tights did this tag and tagged everyone to do it, so I thought why not let everyone have a bit of a nose of what got me into the passion that is make up!

1. How old were you when you started wearing make up?
I think I was possibly about 11 when it turned from dressing up and playing with it to actually taking an actual interest. I started off with lipgloss and then progressed onto mascara and eyeliner soon after.

2. How did you get into make up?
I lived with my dad and he didn't want me to not have everything a girl should have so he bought me my first ever make up to play about with and that was it I was in love.

3. What are some of your favourite brands?
Bourjois, Maybelline, Sleek, Barry M, Benefit, Avon for mascara - I could go on forever I have loads of favourites plus I keep adding brands to love to my list.

4. What does make up mean to you?
Make up for me means a lot, over the last few years the meaning of it has become more to hide my flaws but it will always have a fun meaning.

5. If you could only wear 4 products on your face, what would they be?
Foundation, Eyeliner, Mascara and Tinted Lipbalm

6. What is your favourite thing about make up?
That you can experiment with it and create different looks, just how creative it can let you be!

7. What do you think about drugstore make up VS high end make up?
I used to love high end make up and be really snobby towards the cheaper brands but then I tried a Bourjois foundation because I was desperate and realised how good it was, so I started my mission to find cheaper alternatives. I now prefer drugstore make up to high end as there are some really good ones out there.

8. What is one tip or advice you would give to a beginner?
Practice makes perfect! If you ever have a bit of spare time sit down with a pack of face wipes and a bunch of make up and just have a play about.

9. What is the one make up trend you've never understood?
It's not exactly a make up trend but I just can't stand people that wear obviously the wrong shade of foundation, especially one that's 4 shades darker with a ring around their neck.

10. What do you think of the beauty community on blogger/youtube?
I think everyone is so lovely and friendly, we all have this massive thing in common so its easy to talk to each other. I have met some amazing girls through blogging and class them as my friends even if we don't all actually know each other in person.

11. Who is your style icon?
Lauren Conrad - I love her as I'm sure you all already know!

I'm not going to tag individuals because I want you guys to do this if you want, I know I would love to read them so if you do pop your link below so I can have a nose.

Top 5 Avon Mascaras

Hey Girls!!

So I love mascara with a passion I think it has to be one of my favourite products of all time and the one I have been using the longest.
I wanted to share with you a few of my favourites so I thought I would start by sharing my favourite Avon ones as they are the ones I have the most of, although Avon disappoints me at times I do have to say they do have the greatest mascaras I have ever tried and believe me I have tried a lot!

In 5th Place We Have...

Spectra Lash - £10

This mascara as many of you know can be changed to suit how you are feeling. Level 1 you have the least mascara for when you are just going for the everyday look, Level 2 is for more boldness and added volume and Level 3 intense volume and boldness.
I love the fact that with this you get to control what you want and its a handy one to keep in your handbag as it suits any occasion you may be dealing with, its easy to use doesn't flake or clump.

In 4th Place We Have...

Astonishing Lengths

I don't think they sell this anymore because I cant see it on the website but this is great for adding length to your lashes, it really makes mine so long and full. I only ever need 1 coat of this too as it is such a deep black.

In 3rd Place We Have...

This makes me look like I have 50% more lashes than I do, it creates long full lashes every time!
Its not to wet and its not to dry plus last the whole day without flaking.

In 2nd Place We Have...

This is a newbie to my Avon collection but it is love!
It has a bended brush that seems to curl the lashes as they go, it doesn't do much for fullness but it does lengthen as well. Again this is non clumpy and doesn't flake.

The Winner and Actually My All Time Favourite...

As you can see this one is brand new and just waiting to be opened, I don't normally buy back ups but this I have because I think I would cry if they stopped selling this!
This is my 7th one of these with my 6th running out a few days ago and there are also 2 more un-opened ones sitting in my draw... This mascara is so amazing for me that words can't even begin to describe it!
It makes my lashes thick and full, volumised to the high heavens, long and just like BANG there... I don't think there is any other way I could describe how it makes them, every time I wear it I get 'your eyes look so pretty' 'your lashes are so long' ' I wish I had lashes like yours'
Invest in this bad boy and try it out, you can normally buy it for half the price of what it is as Avon always have some offer or another on.

So there you go my top 5 Avon mascaras!
Have any of you got a love of mascaras? Which ones should I be trying? Do you own any of these or tried them?
Let me know :)
