30 Day Straightener Ban!

Hey my sweet peas!

So we all know what a pair or 2 of these are ;)

We all probably own a pair or two of them? Well I am addicted to them!

This is how you will find I normally have my hair...

Straight, Straight, Straight!!

Now this is how my hair looks naturally...

Please excuse the fact I have no make up on and am about 18 as I run from pictures when my hair is curly!

So I am going to go cold turkey and put my straighteners down for a month to try and embrace my curls and find the love I had for them a few years back plus to give my hair a much needed rest from all the heat I subject it to.

My rules are!

To not use straighteners!
There will be and exception of I can blow dry it straight but am only allowed to do so twice as I have 2 things to attend this month where I don't feel I would feel my normal self if I didn't have my hair straight.

So what do you think girls? Can I do it?

Rimmel 25 Hour Foundation and Boots No7 Lipstick in Coral Dream - FOTD

Hey girls!

I know I don't do many FOTD's so thought I would shove another one up for you guys to nose at, plus let you know my thoughts on 2 of the products used...

Inside

Outside

Products Used

Rimmel 25 hour foundation
NYC Colour Wheel in Pink Cheek Glow
MUA Eyeshadow in Shade 11
Maybelline Liner Express - Black
Avon Curlacious Mascara
No7 Lipstick in Coral Dream

Rimmel 25 Hour Foundation in 200 Soft Beige
No7 Lipstick in Coral Dream

Just Pumped, Lightly Blended, Fully Blended

Coral Dream Swatch

Rimmel 25 Hour Foundation - Now I have read reviews on this that have been a bit hit and miss but when in Boots the other day I thought why not try it as it was on offer for £4.99

Rimmel say that its sweat, heat, humidity and transfer proof for up to 25 hours. Enriched with a revitalizing mineral complex and moisturising aqua primer, skin feels energized and hydrated all day.

Now I have used this for 3 days in a row now and I love it, it covers like an absolute dream and blends so easy for a 'thick' foundation. It feels like you are wearing barely anything which is not something that you would expect from it and lasts a hell of a long time, I don't know about 25 hours because personally that would mean sleeping in it for me and for no love or money would I be doing that... However on me it lasted a good 8-10 hours before I noticed any sort of slipping or wearing off from it and that was only a little shine on my nose and forehead which was nothing a little touch of powder couldn't control.

I applied it at around 9am on the day of the picture shown and these pictures were taken at around 4pm (so 7 hours later) when I had just got in from doing the school run and I think my make up looks amazingly intact after that, I am also wearing it in my haircare video.
I had a sample of Estee Lauder Double Wear and was a bit disappointed with it after everyone raved about it, it was very drying even after I moisturised and I felt it didn't give me the cover that I really wanted where with this I got everything I needed and felt hydrated all day.

The only down side of this foundation is the shades there is only 6 of them and to me they all seem to be on the darker shade of what they are although I was happy with my shade and felt like it was good for my skin tone and colour.

No7 Lipstick in Coral Dream - First of all you all know how much I adore this colour after I bought it on Saturday so was so excited to wear it. It glides on so easily and feels really moisturising, on it lasted for about 4 hours until it started to wear off and once it started it wasn't very long until it was gone completely but I didn't mind as 4 hours is quite a long time for a lipstick on me and nothing a quick swipe of more wouldn't fix.
I can see me wearing this a lot over spring/summer as it is a great sunshiny colour and bang on trend for the seasons.

Have you tried these? What do you think? Will you be buying?

Garnier Body - Intensive 7 Days!

Hey Ladies!

So I bought this a little while ago as I suffer from super dry skin at times, it was a new product and I always seem to buy into the hype of things.

Garnier Intensive 7 days Mango 250ml £2.99
I bought for £1 when on offer at Morrison's when it came out and you can also get a 400ml one for £4.99

What Garnier say - An innovation that helps to prevent moisture loss from the skin surface.
Silky, nourishing texture
Fast-absorbing
Non-greasy
Results are immediate
Skin is softer and more evenly smoothed in texture, skin is optimally hydrated for 24 hours.
After 7 days of use skin quality is dramatically improved -
Dryness by 49%
Roughness by 25%
Suppleness by 26%

First let me start with the smell it is gorgeous and really fruity, as you can see by the swatch of it its a fairly light cream which I really like about it plus I think with the scent and the lightness it will be perfect in the summer.

When using this the first thing I noticed was how well it absorbed into the skin without that greasy or clammy feeling you can get with some moisturisers it just left me feeling really hydrated and silky plus it seemed to dry instantly which is good as I hate sitting there feeling like a wet fish waiting to dry up.
The smell also lingered on my skin for a very long time afterwards.
After using for a week I was noticing a better overall texture of my skin which just seemed to be getting better the longer I used it but that could of been because my stage of dry skin I was going through was going as my skin just felt how it normally does.

Now Garnier claim that after using this twice a day for 4 weeks you will then see your skin is soft a week after your last application, now for me moisturising twice a day is a chore as I hate to do it at the best of times and will only do it if I have to so I didn't do it twice a day but I have noticed that my skin does feel slightly softer on the days when I don't use it.

Have you used this? What did you think?

Wait A Minute Mr Postman.... Is There A Box or 3 For Me?

Hey!!

So today I received these...

Ooooo what could they be?

A little sneak peek at this one perhaps?...

Cleanse and Polish from Liz Earle, I can not even begin to tell you how much I was itching to just rip this open and start taking my make up off but I resisted the urge so I could photograph it while it was still all nice and pretty. Don't wanna show you too much as I am going to review it in a little while.

While I'm on the subject of Liz Earle they are doing some amazing treats for mothers day, especially if you are looking to splash the cash on the lovely lady in your life and know that she loves Cleanse and Polish you can buy her the gift that keeps on giving which is a yearly subscription where she will get one every month for the next year! There are also other fab gifts so why not take a look here.

The smallest box was from e.l.f

Lipstick in Classy £1.50
Mineral Lipstick in Party Pink £3.50

Classy (Top)
Party Pink (Bottom)

High Definition Powder £6
Natural Radiance Blush in Innocence £1.50
Nail Polish in Purple Dream (New) £1.50

I took advantage of their free shipping as I knew I only wanted a few things, I was going to wait for the 20% off but thought I would just end up going over the top and spending money I don't have.
I have been wanting the HD Powder forever so was so glad to see it in stock and I was surprised as to how massive the polish was as I have never ordered one from them before, I cant wait to have a play :)

Last but not least...

I won a giveaway on Leslies blog Girly's Beauty a little while back and my prize came today, I was so excited and cant wait to try :)
Thank you Leslie!

How has everyone's day been? Got anything interesting in the post recently?

Shop, Shop, Shop, Shop Shopping!

Hey you gorgeous bunch!

If you follow me on Twitter you probably would of seen my meltdown after having a bit of my beloved make up destroyed by an un-named 6 year old *cough Tapanga*, so I thought a spot of shopping will cheer me up!

I didn't buy much if I'm honest I just popped to Boots, Mac and Lush... oh and Bare Minerals to claim a freebie.

Here's what I got...

Boots
Rimmel 25 Hour Foundation On offer for £4.99 (Normal price £6.99)
No7 Lipstick in Coral Dream £5 with No7 voucher (£10 normally)

No7 Coral Dream... Gorgeous!!

MAC
Creme Cup £13.50
I had bought this from a blog sale after wanting it forever but sadly it was one of the things Panga destroyed and had to be replaced, it is now kept under lock and key :)

Creme Cup.... So so so in love with this!

LUSH
3 Ickle Baby Bots £1.75 each
Twilight Ballistic £2.99
Avobath Ballistic £2.99
Angels On Bare Skin £5.80
You all know me by now, I cant go shopping without popping into LUSH its becoming a crazy obsession that possibly I'm going to have to go to bath cosmetics rehab for or something along them lines... It is OK to buy this much from them right?

 Bare Minerals
Mini Sample and Kabuki Brush
Bracelet
I got these for free with a voucher out of Marie Claire that I mentioned in my whats in my bag video

Now that Ive got to here I just realised that I actually bought stuff from Sainsbury's too..... *Runs to go and find said products, take pictures and swiftly upload*

Sainsbury's
Paul Smith Curl Cream £2.05
Paul Smith Super Straight Shampoo £1.99
Paul Smith Super Straight Conditioner £1.99
Frizz Ease Straightening Potion x2 £2.49 each
Frizz Ease 3 Day Straight £6.99
I have never tried Paul Smith haircare before so grabbed these as they were all half price, I have been looking for a curl cream that defines my curls for ages ever since Schwarzkopf stopped doing my Loopy curl cream as I am craving to wear my hair natural!
The Frizz Ease Straightening Potions were a bargain as I normally pay like £5 each for them so grabbed 2 because its a product I love, then I thought I'd also jump on the 3 Day Straight band wagon.

So after me just saying I didn't buy much I actually got quite a bit.... Now for some big news I am not going to shop for the next 2 months yep that's right 60 long days! I am going to try and use up loads of products I have, save a bit of cash and just generally fall in love with some bits that I already have.
After Panga destroyed my make up that I use almost every day I thought its about time that everything that lays there unloved could get a look in, I do have an Avon order coming later and an E.L.F order arriving but apart from that nothing for 60 days.... Wish me luck :)

Have you been buying this month? What have you got? Are you on a spending ban or thinking of doing one? If so how are you coping?

See ya!

Superdrug Vitamin E Face Creams!

Hey Girlie's!

So I have used Superdrugs Vitamin E range for a very long time now on and off, I always have one of their massive Vitamin E Body Creams and Firming lotions about as they smell so good and moisturise like a dream!

Today I wanna tell you about their face creams :)

Vitamin E Moisture Cream and Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream £2.99 Each From Superdrug

What Superdrug Say - Our naturally sourced Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant which not only revitalises and protects the skin, it also helps combat the damaging effects of free radicals and shields it against the environment.
The day cream provides 12 hour moisturisation  with extra hydration and daily nourishment to keep your skin feeling smooth, soft and radiant. With the additional protection of SPF15.
The night cream is exactly the same but without the SPF.

Day Cream

This smells really creamy that's all I can describe it as and it is really creamy too, it absorbs into the skin really fast without leaving it feeling greasy or sticky.
I love the fact that it has an SPF in as I like to make sure my skin is protected even on days when the sun isn't out as they can still harm you and lets face it I don't want to be getting wrinkles and other nasty things from not protecting my skin where I can.
It leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth, healthy and perfectly hydrated! This is one of them creams that I will always grab when I'm in a hurry or when I just don't seem to have any routine going on.

Night Cream

This smells exactly like all the other products in the Vitamin E range and is definitely creamy, but not in that overly thick night cream way.
It absorbs right in leaving you feeling quite pampered, your skin is instantly soft and smooth.
When I wake up in the morning my skin feels amazing and certainly looks hydrated, again this is non sticky and non greasy.

Next up....

Vitamin E Illuminating Moisture Cream £2.99 From Superdrug

What Superdrug Say - Our naturally sourced Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant which not only revitalises and protects the skin, it also helps combat the damaging effects of free radicals and shields it against the environment. This Illuminating Moisture Cream gives your face a touch of radiance' It helps protect and hydrate your skin for up to 12 hours and at the same time gives you an instantly radiant complexion. With the additional protection of SPF15

Illuminating Moisture Cream

Now I will have to say I have been buying this for at least 7 years and I always have to have a tube of this about!
It is a complete and utter life saver, you know them days when you feel dead, your skin is grey and you just feel blah? Well this might not make you feel any better but it will make you look it.
It seems to sink into your skin almost effortlessly and is so lightweight but seems to give you a double whammy of moisture without it being greasy or sticky.
It gives a gorgeous glow to the skin with an illuminating gold sheen as I can only so badly describe it as, it is not like these other illuminating creams I have seen that leave you looking like a glitter ball it really just does give a nice little bit of radiance to you.
I will forever continue to buy this, I think it is possibly a product I can never be without.

Have any of you tried the Vitamin E range from Superdrug? What do you think of it?

xxx

P.S... I'm going to bore you all now with my asking but I would really love it if you could pop over to my Facebook page and 'Like' me if you could :)

So here was me before...

“Put a spring in your spring! Tell us, how would you lighten up your life? #AussieLight”

I would lighten my life by changing my hair, I always like to have a bit of an experiment when it comes to my hair and I think Spring is the time for that to happen after the dull dreary months of winter...
But how I hear you ask?

I will be doing one of these this spring (well maybe not blond), to help make my life that little bit lighter.... I just need to decide what but what I'm sure of is change will make my life lighter :)

NOTD - Nubar Nail Lacquer in Lime Green

Hello you lovely bunch!

I thought I would bring you some nails today :)

I'm a bit undecided about this colour, I see it and I'm like ahhh I love it and then I catch it again and think hmm do I really?!
When I saw it in the bottle I instantly fell in love, it was the colour I was looking for but when applied I'm just not to sure if I love it as much as I love it in the bottle. I do have to say the application has put me off it as well, its really runny and took 4 coats to be opaque and resemble the colour in the bottle, I have another Nubar polish and its opaque in one coat so after using that and then this it is a big difference seeing as I had high hopes.

What do you guys think? Is it a yay or a nay?

Let me know
