Stuck In A Rut!

Hey Girls!

Do you ever feel like you are stuck in a make up rut? That you have so many things but are constantly grabbing the same things everyday? I do!

Everyday I tend to grab my Rimmel 25 Hour Foundation, Accessorize Blush, Maybelline Eyeliner, Avon Mascara and Mac Hue Lipstick.

Now I need to do something about this, yes some days I will play around with a different lip colour or I might put a touch of eyeshadow on but lately that has become very rarely, so for the next 3 Mondays I am going to be posting my week in Lipsticks, Eyeshadows and Blushers to try and get me out of my little make up rut and to find a love for the many bits of make up stashed in my draws!

Are you stuck in a make up rut? Do you wanna join me on my little make up rut mission?

Let me know :)

E.L.F Brushes...

Hey Girls!

A little while ago I was sent some brushes from the lovely people over at E.L.F which I was really excited about as I have never tried their brushes before but had read so many great things about!

So here's what I got...

I love this brush! It is so soft, fluffy and really well made (I yanked it in every single way possible to put it to the test), I have been using it everyday since I got it and I have to say it is one of the nicest brushes I have tried! It applies whatever you are using it to apply quickly and effortlessly, seemingly gliding over your face. I have had no fallout with this brush what so ever, washed it several times too with it always returning back to its original shape.
For £3.50 I think that is amazing value for money, especially when it is made better than most of my more expensive brushes.

Contour Brush £3.50 (Studio Line)

Another great brush! The bristles are so densely packed, soft and a really great shape for picking up eyeshadow and really blending it in effortlessly. I have also had no fallout with this brush and it has also washed very well.

Fan Brush £3.50 (Studio Line)

Another really soft brush with lots of bristles that washes well with no fallout. The only problem is with this brush is me and fan brushes don't get along, I actually see no need for them so hardly use them which is no reflection on this brush. I used it once maybe twice, it did the job.

Kabuki Brush £3.50 (Mineral Line - Also a larger one for £5.00)

I had been wanting to try something from the mineral line for a long time so was excited to get this, took it out the packaging it felt really soft, the bristles are densely packed together I pulled it about in every direction I could think of to see how it was and from face value I liked it but then I used it. I was really disappointed as I wanted to like it so much, it ticked all the boxes for me and don't get me wrong it left a flawless application of whatever I have used it with but its scratchy really scratchy and feels like at times it can drag my skin from side to side... Something I am not fond of.

So I am definitely going to checking out some more brushes from the studio line from E.L.F, let me know any suggestions of brushes you think I should get :)

A Dream Is Not a Dream Until You've Dreamt It!

Picture from weheartit.com

'Dare to dream, dare to fly, dare to be the one to touch the sky'

What is it to dream? To me to dream is about aspiring to do things you want to, achieve and believe in!

Who decides if a dream is too big or too small? I can tell you nobody does, as dreams are something as you as an individual have... One can never be too big or too small!

I have certain dreams and am sometimes told they are fickle or based on vanity but do you know what, I am here to say a big fat WHO CARES?!?

I love to dream and let my mind wander to a place where I am happy, lost a good few pounds, in a job I absolutely love and own my own house... All of which are perfectly achievable and things that I am well on my way to achieving.
Then there are other dreams ones that start getting bigger like learning how to fly an aeroplane, having a leading role in a movie, singing in front of a massive audience, being a millionaire by the time I'm 35, owning a ton of hair and beauty salons and going to the moon (haha! This one makes me laugh but something I think would be amazing) All things I am likely to never achieve but something nice to dream about.

I think we live in a world where society and lifestyles have made us think that we just have to take whats given to us and that dreams can be put on the back burner as we are all to busy living life as we know it, trudging along trying to get by but why should they? It's nice to dream right?.

P.S... I just wanna apologise for my ramble, sometimes these things come in my head and I need to let them out!

Just Bitten

Hola mi chicas!

I know I have already posted today but you know when you buy something, use it and instantly fall in love? Well I have had that with this, its not normally a product I would buy but was intrigued by it so thought why not and also I only bought it yesterday so god knows how much I will love it in a few weeks but today I am in love for the moment....

Revlon Just Bitten in Passion

The Stain

The Balm

First applied

After 4 hours

After 9 hours

Firstly let me tell you applied this at 8:30am just as I was getting ready to go on the school run and snapped a FOTD picture (But hated it, hair all over the place haha!) By 12:30ish when I was about to get lunch I saw how bright my lips were still looking and thought oh I'll grab a pick for when I want to post on it then lastly at 5:30ish when I gave Tapanga dinner she asked me if I was wearing Lipstick so thought I would go have a nose in the mirror and behold there was still the remains of the lipstain there!

Now I love the colour of this its just that amount of summer bright in a sort of sheer but deep way, it applies like a dream and the balm is so conditioning and seems to take the colour to this nice glossy deeper dimension. And as you can see it wears off really nicely and I haven't had to re-apply all day even though I have drank various drinks and eaten throughout the day, I have just removed what remains of it too very easily with a face wipe.

I am thinking this is now going to be one of the stable products in my make up and will definitely be investing in some more! Imagine how great they will be for nights out and days when you don't want to drag that lippie around in your bag for fear of it coming open, breaking and getting unwanted fluff in it (Come on we all know its happened to us at some point).

Have you tried these? Something similar? What do you think?

Let me know girls

17 Photo Flawless Skin Primer

17 Photo Flawless Skin Primer 15ml - £4.99

I was getting a bit bored of my regular primer so thought I would pick this up a little while back as I had read so many great things about it...

It claims that it can help you achieve picture perfect preparation, prolonged foundation wear and minimised pores but for me this isn't the case. It glides on really well and a little really does spread a long way leaving my face feeling soft and smooth but no way does it seem to minimise my pores neither does it seem to prolong my foundation wear.

Normally my foundation (Either Bourjois Healthy Mix or Rimmel 25 Hour) with a primer will last a good 10 hours and without will last about 8 but with this I was lucky if it even stuck around for 4 which really disappointed me and my foundation seemed to wear off in a patchy way leaving me looking worse than what I did before applying my make up. I really wanted to like this as well and never have a bad thing to say about 17 in general, maybe this one was a dud, a bad batch or something? I don't know but for me it doesn't work to what I have heard others say its potential can be.

Have any of you used this? What did you think of it?

If you guys know of any amazing primer out there please let me know as I love to use one but my old one just doesn't cut it anymore.

So I Just Popped Into Superdrug...

Hello you wonderful lot!

How are you all? I do have to say the weather has been quite nice in London today (Sorry if you come from elsewhere and its been crap!) and I had the urge to pop to the shops, I intended on buying a new dress/top and the Lee Stafford Blow Dry Your Hair Faster Wonder Spray (What a mouthful!) but I couldn't find anything I liked and Boots was rubbish on the Lee Stafford front.... So off I trotted to Superdrug intending to buy baby wipes and well erm 4 packs of baby wipes later, a few little essentials that caught my eye too and then there was this little lot....

Impulse Bodyspray with Barry M Lipgloss - £3 each

They were £3 and I have been trying to search these out and never seem to find them so thought why not, plus I love both these sprays and Barry M glosses are always a winner for me.

Vitamin E All Over Body Cream - £2.99 or 2 for £3.99

Any of you who read my blog regularly will know of my love of Superdrugs Vitamin E range, this is yet another product that has been stable in my life for at least the last 8 years and the value for money here is just utterly AMAZING!

Johnson's Day and Night Face Cream for Dry Skin
£4.07 each or 2 for £3.99

I have used these on and off for a while but when I saw them on offer for both of them cheaper than 1 I just had to snap them up!

St Ives Micro-Dermabrasion Scrub £5.10
St Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub £4.38
or 2 for £5.99

I love St Ives scrubs and really wanted to try the Micro-Dermabrasion one so thought I would pick up these 2 at a little bargain price!

VO5 Give Me Texture £4.29 or 2 for £4.99

I bought this and a hair gel for Pascal (Not pictured). I love Dust It by Osis but hate the price tag so thought why not try this as a cheaper alternative.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19
GOSH Brow Kit £6.99
Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain and Balm £5.99

I bought the concealer as I have heard so many good things about it so thought I had to see for myself, the brow kit is simply because I have lost my E.L.F one and really need something in its place and lastly the lipstain and balm is just something I saw thought the colour looked nice and bought.

So after all of that I spent far more than I ever intended on spending in there but am fully happy with my purchases, plus I got points and loads of the things I bought had special offer points on them.... In total I came out of Superdrug with 548 points woop! I just can't wait to spend them now haha!

Have you guys done any cheeky shopping?

L'Occitane - Pivoine Flora Fragrance

Good morning you gorgeous bunch!!

How is everyone today? I have been awake for what seems like forever so thought why not take the time this morning to tell you about something I have well and truly been loving!

Pivoine Flora Eau de Parfum, 50ml - £39.00
Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette Intense Roll-on, 10ml - £14.00

Pivoine Flora Eau de Parfum, 50ml
Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette Intense Roll-on, 10ml

Pivoine Flora Eau de Parfum Spray

Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette Intense Roll-on

The Peony Flower

The whole Pivoine Flora Collection is based on the Peony flower, which is absolutely stunning although today I am not talking about the whole collection only the perfumes as they are what I have fallen in love with!
I attended the launch of the collection at the beginning of the month and found out so much about L'Occitane and what they were about plus found out loads about the collection too and why it is based on the Peony which I found really cute that there was a back story to it, basically if you want to know every year in May the Peony puts on an amazing show of colours and scents, the scents of the petals blend together creating floral notes that are beautifully feminine so thats what they have based it on.

L'Occitane say that  it has head notes of Bergamot blended with Grapefruit, heart notes of Peony, Magnolia and Violet petals and base notes of Vanillia, Cedar and Musk....

Now to me I wouldn't be able to tell you if I can smell all of that but I can smell the Peony and I can smell the Vanilla, to me I would describe it as a delicate yet intense fragrance that lingers on the skin for hours, every time you move you get a waft of the gorgeous smell and it can be worn day or night. The packaging is absolutely stunning and I love the faded pink bottles.

I have been using these ever since I got them and keep the roll-on in my bag at all times just for that burst of gorgeous girliness, I love the fact that this scent is very ready for summer and even after will bring back all the summer memories!

You can buy these from L'Occitane

Have a lovely Saturday :)

Lush Lovin'

Hellooo You Wonderful Bunch!

Another little Lush Lovin' for you all :)

So where do I start with this little block of joy... The smell? Amazing! It reminds me of Vanilla, Honey, Toffee, Caramel all things like that but with a really uplifting twist to it (Although Lush say Honey and Toffee, my description is what it does to me) It seems to lather up into this silky soft array of fine bubbles, that covers your skin in the delicious scent (Can you tell I actually feel like eating this haha!).
It is non drying and I use it almost every day, whether its to wash my hands or in my daily bath or shower. The scent lingers on your skin for a long time afterwards too which is an added bonus seeing as some just tend to waft straight away, I buy this every time I start to run low just to make sure I am not left in the lurch without it.

Ahhh it truly is Lush Lovin' with this one :)

Have you used this? What do you think?

Let me know

Theres a new girl on the block... And a bit of Nail Rock!

Helloo girlieees!

I'd like to introduce myself to all of you gorgeous people, I am Alex and I am new to all of this so be nice :)
Firstly I'll start of by telling you guys a bit about myself, I am a qualified Beauty Therapist and studied at The London College of Beauty Therapy probably best 2 years of my life! I really love doing it ever since I was old enough to grab mums lippie out the make up bag at 4 years old haha! I also have another passion in life and that is travelling, I have always had a dream of living in LA or New York in the old ages, more of a retirement place I have to travel the world first :) Anyways I'm a very girlie girl and can be very ditzy at times, If you would like to know anymore about me then follow me on twitter  @alexandravacher

Nails by Nail Rock!

I recently attended the Boudoir PR day thanks to my beautiful friend charli, were we had our nails done by Nail Rock

This is me getting my nails done, never met such a manly man doing nails before hahaa!

This is the finish product and I was absolutely amazed by them.

Sooooo how do you use them I bet your thinking..?!

Well they are basically nail wraps and are secured on by heat, they are applied by matching the wrap nearest to your cuticle size, gently place the transfer onto the nail neatly as possible then with a hairdryer apply the heat to the sides of the nails and apply pressure on the sides then file off the excess at the end of nail! How quick and easy is that, maybe not so when I try myself haha! But I will let you guys know the verdict!

Great for the Friday night dash so you're not waving your hands like a mad man waiting for them to dry so you can carry on getting ready :)

I really hope you guys enjoyed this post as it is my first but sure wont be the last once I have got the hang of all of this!

Love Alex

Sigma - F80 Flat Top Kabuki

Hey you lovely bunch!

I know you have probably seen this brush featured on a lot of blogs lately but thought I would just tell you about what I actually think!

F80 Flat Top Kabuki from Sigma $16.00 (About £9.80 in the UK)

I love this brush, I seriously don't think I could be without it anymore and have no idea how I lived without it for so long!

I use it to apply my liquid foundation and I have to say it makes the application process quick, easy and something I now look forward to. It creates what I like to think is an airbrushed look with your foundation, the first time I used it I was actually in shock at how amazing my foundation looked I had to stand there in the mirror looking for something just not right but alas I could not find anything!

The bristles of the brush are packed together so well and because of the top of the brush being flat it really is great for buffing into the skin, the bristles are also extremely soft actually one of the softest brushes I have felt and on the same softness of my ecotools brushes (If you own one you will know what I mean).
It also works really well with powders too although this is now just strictly my foundation brush.

It is also really easy to clean, I have cleaned mine about 5 times since having it and it hasn't shed once and always returns back to its natural shape.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

Hey Girls!

So about 6 weeks ago I was lucky enough for the lovely people over at Liz Earle to send me one of their Cleanse and Polish starter kits, I have been using it literally from the day that I got it so thought I would now let you know what I think of it.

As you can see packaged perfectly..

Little travel bag to store it in...

Comes with 2 Muslin clothes..

Thick consistency..

So at first me and the Cleanse and Polish didn't get on I broke out in a major way and I didn't even want to look at my dry spotty skin in the mirror but I persevered with it as I know that when you try new skin care you can break out as you make the change, I am so glad I did as I don't think I would be without this now!

Cleanse and Polish works in what Liz Earle like to say is a 2 phase action, with the first being the cleansing and the second being the polishing with the pure muslin cloth.

The Cleanse and Polish itself is a really thick and creamy cleanser that smells lightly of menthol and can be used to even remove eye make up which for me is an utter bonus as I am always saying what a chore it is to do it separately.
I normally pump one full pump into my hand and massage it all over my face and neck, rinse my muslin cloth in hand hot water squeeze out the excess put it on my whole face for 30 seconds and then start 'polishing' off my day. I have come accustomed to quite enjoying taking my make up off as its just a nice little 5 minutes and so easy to do, plus I never seem to have any traces of make up left over!
My skin now feels so much fresher and brighter, I am really happy with the skin care routine I have going on at the moment and will be getting another Cleanse and Polish come payday as mine is running low.

You can buy the Cleanse and Polish from Liz Earle's Website Here for £13.25 for the starter kit which is what I have above.

Radox Bath Smoothies Event!

Hey Lovelies!

So last night I was invited to the Radox Bath Smoothies event held at Aqua Sheko Fish Spa in London's, Soho.
We were there for the launch of their bath smoothies (a variation on their original Shower Smoothies but for the bath) where we were treated to fish pedicures, manicures and massages which to say the least was utterly amazing!

First off let me introduce you to Alex, she is my gorgeous friend who I absolutely adore! Sometimes Alex has a bit of a play about with stuff for me and has asked if she can do a few guest posts on here, so if you guys are ok with that then I will let her... So let me know :)

We were taken downstairs where we had our feet washed with our choice of Bath Smoothie then were taken over to our seats cocktail in hand to get a fish pedicure from the Garra Rufa Fish which wasn't as bad as I expected it was actually really nice, just felt like a mix of bubbles and little vacuums in my opinion. After we were treated to a lovely massage that I never wanted to end! We also met up with Maria and Jessica who are absolutely fantastic girls, we had such a laugh and I couldn't of asked for better girls to of spent my night with.

Here are the Bath Smoothies in question
Spirit Booster - A rich and creamy mix of yoghurt, cranberry and elderflower to boost body and mind.
Soul Soother - Incorporates chamomile, blackcurrant and cranberry to calm the mind.
Tropical Tranquillity - A divine combination of coconut, crushed almonds and myrrh to indulge the senses.

Radox say that they have taken the natural ingredients found in their original Shower Smoothies and blended them into a luxurious, smooth cream designed to deliver a sumptuous bathing experience that will leave you smelling good enough to eat! Which I can agree with as I have been using Spirit Booster since receiving it a little while back.

These are available from Boots, Superdrug and selected Supermarkets and will be priced at £2.99

So what do you think of fish pedis, have you had/want one? Would you mind Alex doing a few guest posts? Are you going to be trying the new offering from Radox?
