I Was Brave Enough To Turn Up The Heat, Now I'm..... RED HOT!!

Hellooooooo!!

Wow! I think this is the longest time I haven't blogged in, 5 whole days... That is truly shocking although my excuse is I lost my camera wire and there wasn't much I could do without pictures! Hope you have all been well and not missed me too much :P

Anyway do you remember like 2 weeks ago I did  a post on my search for the perfect red? and in that post I told you I had a dye that would take me to that uber bright RED that I have been longing for, well I bit the bullet and I did it. I have to say it is LOVE!!! I have no idea why I didn't do it sooner and why I was being such a scaredy cat about it all.

Just so you guys remember here is what my hair looked like last time I dyed it...

And here is how it is now....

*Edit* This is the picture that shows the truest colour

I blooming LOVE IT!!!

I used a dye called Majicontrast with 40Vol (12%) Peroxide.
You can buy it from all good hair supply shops and maybe even Ebay!

What do you guys think?

NOTD - Hot & Spicy

Hey Girls!

I am finally able to paint my nails again after my disastrous weak brittle breaking nails saga I have been through recently, they have grown loads although my actual fingers are a state.... *Books manicure swiftly*

I am loving this little beauty...

Rimmel Hot & Spicy £2.99

2 Coats

I love the colour to me it looks like Red and Coral had an amazingly beautiful love child and seeing as I am someone who finds it so hard to wear reds this is a good way I can get my red fix without it being too red!

I have had this on for the last 2 days and I haven't even started to get tip wear yet which is good as I usually have wear almost straight away with Rimmel polishes, the application was easy too and I love the brush its nice long and relatively thick.

At the moment all Rimmel polishes and make up are on 3 for 2 at Superdrug, they have some amazing summery colours too!

What are you wearing on your nails?

E.L.F Powder Brush!

Hey girls!

So I am back after what seems like the longest time although it was only Friday I last blogged it feels like far much has gone on since then, I want to say a massive thank you to every single last one of you who commented on my last post it was seriously like the most overwhelming loveliest things you said! I wanted to reply back to all of you individually but that would of been really exhausting due to the nature of the topic but I did read them all quite a few times and took in everything you guys said. The weekend went OK, it was a bit of a drag but Friday night was made bearable by my friends and Saturday bearable by my family so it wasn't all bad.

Anyway, enough of me waffling lets get back to why you're here..... This is a beauty blog after all ;)

This brush reminds me so much of my Sigma F80 (post here) but a much cheaper alternative!

It is so well made, I put it through the usual yanking about in every direction that I do with all my other brushes and I can say not 1 little tiny hair fell out from this brush! The bristles are well and truly firmly stuck in there, it washes so well and effortlessly returning to its natural shape as it dries.... It is also so soft, something that I love about all the E.L.F Studio Line brushes.

I use this brush to apply my liquid foundation, it effortlessly buffs it into my skin leaving my skin looking flawless with an even amazing coverage. It is also really good for applying powder as you can just buff it in leaving it looking seamless. Also it seems to cut down foundation application like there's no tomorrow, it literally takes a matter of seconds to apply a full face.

I say that if you are looking to purchase the Sigma F80 and don't want to spend that much on it or wait for the delivery this really is a fantastic alternative that you will not regret purchasing, it is also great as a back up brush if you already own an F80.

I actually think all these E.L.F Studio Line brushes are fast becoming my favourite brushes out of all the ones I own and the great thing is they are so cheap!

What do you guys think of this brush? Do you own it?

Our Deepest Fear Is Not That We Are Inadequate...... But That We Are Alone.

I am not even sure where this post is going but at the moment in time, this time of year is always something that is tough on me. I put on this massive brave exterior to the outside world, I barely let people see me crack as to me that is a sign of my weakness! It can be very testing seeing as I have a mental illness, don't worry I am not mad or nothing I just suffer from a form of depression and they like to give it the term 'mental'.

Around this time of year I begin to judge everything in my life to see what differences would of happened in my life if one big massive change had never occurred, I think do I truly know who I am? Where I came from? Who my family are? Sometimes I hate being stuck in my own head.

Were you ever asked as a kid 'What your biggest fear is?' I was, we were doing a project in English where we had to make boxes that nobody would ever look inside except for us and we had to keep adding to it. One of the questions that had to be answered was 'What is your biggest fear?' My answer was simple 'Losing my dad', I don't know why I wrote that as it had never crossed my mind but at that moment in time I remember thinking I would die if he ever went away... Just crumble into a million pieces.

What happens if your biggest fear becomes a reality? Well mine did on the 18th of June 2002, I was at my mums house and woke up from a bad dream telling my mum I had to get and meet my dad as I had a dream he had died... She told me not to worry. I went to where I was meeting him, he was a no show so I freaked out and told my mum we had to get to my house as my dad was dead. At first she thought I was absolutely crazy but I could feel it in my gut that a piece of me was seemingly missing and behold on that Tuesday morning when I arrived at my house my dad had fallen to sleep aged just 49 on my sofa.
Now that is something that plagues me and has done for the last 9 years, I was meant to be at home that weekend as it was fathers day but I was such a stubborn teen who wanted to see her mum and my dad told me it was fine to go, I should of stayed I know that now as I never got to say goodbye and left on an argument with some of my last words to him being 'I wish you were dead'.

I have no idea why I am writing this post, I think its to do with the fact that I need to let it out as although tomorrow it will have been 9 years since he died I have still not done my grieving, I fear I will forget his voice, face, eyes. I'm scared that soon he is going to of been gone longer than I knew him, a distant memory that may occasionally be brang up every now and then.

Everyone claims that time is this great healer but it's not, the pain never goes away especially at moments in your life like finishing school, college, having a baby.... Times like that when you just think wow I wish you were here!.

I just wanna say that you guys should always keep your loved ones close whether it be your family or your friends, they are the people in life that you will need. Trust me as I know it so well, I would of literally fallen apart if it wasn't for my best friend and at times when I would let her in... My mum.

This Post Is Dedicated To...

Sleek - Mediterranean Collection - Eyeshadow Palette in Monaco

Hello you beautiful bunch!

Every time Sleek bring out a new collection I always wonder 'Hmm do I actually want anything from it? Should I buy the whole lot just to have it? If I only buy 1 thing from it what will it be?'.
The moment I saw sneak peeks at The Mediterranean collection I knew that A) I didn't like the look of the Blush and Pout Polish and B) I had to have the Eyeshadow Palette and would fight anyone who got in my way to have it, luckily there had to be no fighting had as I am lucky enough to know a Superdrug that never sells out of collections as I don't think many people round there are too interested in make up! (Crazy people!!).

I love the box!

*Gorgeous*

I love the colours in this palette so much, Kiwi Zest, Sunset and Humming Bird have to be my favourites although I can see myself doing loads with this as its just perfect for the summer months (If we ever see any that is!).

I Think I've Found My Perfect..... Brush For Blusher!!!

Hey girls!!

How has Tuesday been? I feel like it should be the end of the week already.... Roll on Friday, that's what I say!

Anyway I have found the PERFECT brush for me to apply blusher with, I am so in love with it that I actually don't know why I have never tried one of these brushes before to apply any cheek products. Whats this brush you're on about I hear you ask......

Well any stipple brush but this has to be my favourite one, it is absolutely perfect!

It applies colour exactly where you want it, the bristles are so lightweight that it picks up just enough product leaving you in control with how much colour you are applying! It also seems to create a flawless well blended colour so effortlessly, I really do have no idea why it has taken me so long to discover this.

The E.L.F Stipple Brush is a very sturdy, lightweight brush with some of the softest bristles I have ever felt. As always I put this brush through all the yanking in every direction I could think of and have also washed it a few times since having it, there has been absolutely no fallout what so ever and has dried back into shape so well.

At the moment this is my favourite brush and I will even go so far as to saying it is my favourite brush of all time, I am 100% going to be grabbing a few more of these as soon as I get paid as I think the £3.50 I paid for it (Actually £2.80... Oh yes, 20% discount) is an absolute bargain for how great this brush is!

Please buy one and love it as much as I do!

Do any of you own this brush? What brush do you use for blusher?

Stuck In A Rut! - The Blushers!!

Hey Girls!

Firstly I want to apologise as I feel I have failed on the Blusher front for two reasons, 1) I forgot to take pictures of me wearing them and 2) I only actually swapped between two this week!

So I just thought I would show you what they are anyway...

Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Unrequited
and
Accessorize Merged Blusher in Starlet

I had actually forgotten how much I love the Illamasqua blusher, It is such a pretty pink (You can see a swatch of it here) and as you all know I seem to be having a major love affair with my Accessorize blush in Starlet (Swatches here).

I think in the case of blushers I am going to go with if its not broke don't fix it, although I do have my eyes on a few insanely beautiful blushers so they might just give me the inspiration to mix it up a little ;)

UNE Glimmer Lips Gloss!

UNE Glimmer Lips Gloss in G02 - £7.99

Brush Applicator

Gorgeous Colour

Now I have never tried a product from UNE before, its always a stand I take a nose at maybe swatch a few things and then turn on my heel to nose around the rest of the make up calling my name.
Although I am now going to say after trying out this gloss I am definitely going to pay much more attention to them from now on and try out a few more of the products they have on offer.

The shade I was given is G02 which is a really nice rose pink and UNE claim that the 100% natural formulation of the gloss offers essential hydration for summer lips, its light texture glides over the lips with no sticky film and the fragrance is 100% naturally scented with Tomato leaf.

I was a bit scared when I saw Tomato leaf as I was like what is this going to smell like? But I can tell you it just has a subtle scent that's barely even detectable and nothing like tomatoes. The gloss itself is very moisturising and almost feels like a balm when applied, the colour is also a very natural flattering pink with the most subtle hint of glitter and I am not talking chunks of glitter but the most finest particles, you can definitely not feel anything in there. The only problem I would say I had with this gloss is that its not very long wearing for me, lasts about an hour but it does leave my lips feeling very soft long after it has worn off.

You can buy UNE products from selected Boots and Superdrugs.

Have any of you tried anything from UNE? Whats your favourite product?

VO5 Miracle Concentrate

VO5 Miracle Concentrate - Around £4.99 in various places

Dispensing Dropper

I am absolutely loving this at the moment and I can tell you I'm glad I am, seeing the trouble I had finding it! Half the shops didn't even know what it was and when I found one that did they had no stock but ah the great that is Sainsburys had it!

This is in my eyes what it says - A Miracle! It contains Argan Oil which is high in Vitamin E, rich in anti-oxidants to help fight against free radicals, hydrating and deeply conditioning.

The Miracle Concentrate claims to...
♥ Intensely condition & help repair dry, damaged or frizzy hair
♥ Leave hair unbelievably smooth & silky soft
♥ Add radiant shine
♥ Reduce drying time & damage caused to hair by blow drying

You only need a few drops of this and it works a treat, I'm not sure if it cut my drying time down but it has definitely made my hair a lot smoother while blow drying straight. My hair is left feeling soft, strong and healthy not to mention really shiny afterwards, the smell is also AMAZING like something I have never smelt before almost sweet like vanilla with a tinge of lavender. I also have been using a couple of drops on my dry hair as it helps to calm any flyaways and also adds a gorgeous shine.

The good thing about this is that I think it will last for a very long time as you need very little and the dispensing dropper makes it easy to use the right amount.

Have you tried this? More to the point have you been able to find it?
What do you all think?

I ♥ My New Straighteners!!

Hey Girls!

How are you all? Hasn't the weather been so rubbish today? All it seems to of been for me here in London is thunder, lightning and rain..... Urgh!!

Anyway a little while back I was tweeting that I needed new straighteners as my trustworthy GHDs had died on me, I had been given loads of suggestions and went on my hunt to see if I could find any that had been mentioned. In my trekking around the shops of good old Bromley I ended up at Boots of all places and started having a nose.... Alas I found a pair of straighteners!!
They were not a straightener anyone had mentioned to me but I saw the brand and knew of them as I had used them before when I was training, then I saw the price and how gorgeous they were I had to snap them up...

LCF Couture 230 Degree Straigtener

Sleek white round edges, with a gorgeous design on!

In action...

After just going over once...

Creates lovely waves/curls

Basically I love these I really do (don't they remind you of limited edition GHDs?), they do everything I want them to do and more! Plus they leave my hair feeling soft, silky and shiny. They don't pull like other straighteners do, don't snag the hair and best of all are really lightweight... They are really easy to work with if wanting to create waves or curls and heat up to a scorching 230 degrees, basically everything I was looking for in a straightener!.

The best part about these though has got to be the price, they were down from £81.69 to an amazing £32.68 and the best thing is the offer is still on for now here.
If you're looking for a new pair of straighteners and don't want to fork out a ton of money on getting some good ones, go and buy these bad boys!

Fathers Day Treat!

Hello everyone!

So as we all know Fathers Day or what I prefer to call it Daddy's Day is in just over a weeks time (here in the UK anyway) So I thought I would do a post on a perfect gift to get your Dad or Grandad...

Inside the wash bag you get a 100ml tube of Sensitive Shave Cream, 50ml of  After-Shaving Moisturiser and a Towelling Cloth. The wash bag itself has 2 compartments to store bits a pieces in and also has a hanging hook to be hung up anywhere you please.

I know my Dad would of loved something like this but sadly as he can't be here with us, Panga will be giving this to her Dad as a Daddy's Day treat.

What will you be getting your dad for Daddy's Day?

My Search For The Perfect Red! *Quite picture heavy*

Hellooooo!

Well yesterday I dyed my hair again! I am constantly on the search for the perfect red, I want my hair bright and bold but I am just too afraid to do it as I am scared when I am having a bad hair day I am going to look just like a clown *shudders* I do have this one dye sitting in my draw which is going to take me to that perfect uber bright Rihanna like red but as I say I am a scaredy cat who seems to be getting less brave with age *cue crying about how old I'm getting*.

So anyway after me babbling to you lot about my midlife dying crisis I will get to the point and tell you that I decided to try out a new hair dye, you know for review purposes ;) (Nothing to do with the fact I had ugly hair, with roots so horrid I felt like a street urchin!)

A little show at how bad my hair looked before!
Please excuse the frizzy dull awful state that is before you, I had just been caught in the rain plus we all know dirty hair is best to dye ;)

The dye I used, Live Salon Style and its contents

The shade I chose.... Intense Red

Roots and then the rest of my hair being done!
I was quite scared when I started seeing it turn an orangey colour!

Newly coloured hair

It again in different light

The colour with flash on the left and none on the right

The dye itself was a complete bargain, it costs £4.29 in Superdrug at the moment but I actually got 2 boxes for 58p by spending my Superdrug Beauty Card points (Yes I'm a shopaholic!). It was really easy to work with but I do have to say the smell of it was a little overpowering, the whole process took 30 minutes and it has actually turned a shade quite close to the one on the box covering my previously dyed hair well too. The conditioner that came along with the dye was really lovely left my hair feeling and smelling great.

If you are going to use this dye though I do warn that when you rinse it out it takes forever and if like me you have your head tipped over the side of your bath the fumes do become a bit too much and really get up your nose!. I am quite impressed with the colour but it is still nowhere near how I am actually wanting to get my hair looking, so who knows I might just go and be bold the next time I dye my hair and brave going the uber bright red shade I am so forever longing for.

E.L.F Conditioning Lip Balms!

Hey girls!!

I was recently sent 2 of e.l.f's Conditioning Lip Balms, they are new to the Studio Line, cost £3.50 each and come in 6 shades!

Top of the balms

Huge, chunky packaging!
L-R - Mellow Melon and Blissful Berry

Mellow Melon
A gorgeous corally pink

Blissful Berry
A deep plummy shade

Top - Mellow Melon
Bottom - Blissful Berry

They are HUGE!!

First of all when I took them out of the packaging the first thing that struck me was how massive they are, really a big massive square that I can't even grasp my whole hand around and I don't have tiny hands I can tell you that! After inspecting the packaging I opened them up and had a little smell as I have a big problem with things that go so close to my nose smelling, these were pleasant almost vanilla like.

Colour wise I love Mellow Melon, it is so gorgeous and I think the better quality of the two! It feels really moisturising on the lips with no tackiness and leaves a really good colour pay off too.
Blissful Berry to me is more a colour I will be wearing when the weather becomes a little duller and not to moisturise my lips as it doesn't feel as moisturising as Mellow Melon but more for a bit of a colour pay off. Blissful Berry feels almost gloss like with a bit of tackiness which to me is a bit odd as they are both the same product but in different colours, it also for me can only be worn on what I like to call a good lip day as it seems to highlight even the tiniest bit of flakiness on my lips which there is hardly any.

I do like the fact that all of the conditioning lip balms come with SPF 15 in them, as if you are like me and always forgetting to protect your lips from the suns pesky rays then its already a job done for you. Plus they come in sturdy screw lid packaging which is great for just chucking in your bag and not having to worry about them coming undone and leaking, also as they are so big will be really easy to find too.

The only downside to me is I am not sure how long they will last as I have used Mellow Melon twice and Blissful Berry once by just swirling my finger around which has already made quite a big dent in the product, plus I am scared they might melt a bit in warmer days as when they seem to get in contact with skin heat they melt instantly but other than that for £3.50 I don't think you can go wrong and they are definitely worth a try.

You can buy them online at E.L.F
