Summer Sunday Blogging Series - Rebecca from Oh! Panda

A Summer FOTD

Face

The Body Shop Flawless Skin Protecting Foundation SPF25 in 01- I love this foundation, it leaves my skin looking really fresh and it’s a great buildable foundation.  I think it’s being discontinued though, it’s currently half price at The Body Shop but it looks like an end of line reduction rather than an offer.  The Body Shop is the worst offender when it comes to discontinuing things I like. *mumble grumble*

Illamasqua Powder Blusher in “Katie” – A lovely swish of pink!

Eyes

Barry M Dazzle Dust in “Yellow” – Applied to the inner half of the eye.
NYX Jumbo Pencil in “Orange” – Applied to the outer half of the eye and thoroughly blended out and with the yellow.
Glamour Doll Eyes Eye Shadow in “Disco White” – This stuff has a lot of shimmer, it is a white pigment with little aqua coloured bits of glitter in it.  I used it very sparingly, using just a little made for a nice highlight.
The Body Shop Liquid Liner in “Black” – This is a simple, decent black liquid liner.
MUA Eye Glitter in “Shade 6” - On its own this is not really all that great (but it is only £1) but put it over some black liner and POW!  Shade 6 is a pink gel with a purpley hue and the purple/blue glitter in it just sets over a black liner gorgeously!

Lips

OCC Lip Tar in Pageant – Nothing, absolutely nothing can rival the awesomeness of OCC’s Lip Tars.  Pageant is a hot pink, apply as carefully as possible with a lip brush.  Despite it being in a tube you cannot get away with smearing it on like gloss, the colours are seriously pigmented and you will probably resemble a clown.

MUA Pro Palettes, A New Found Love?

Hello you wonderful bunch!

As you all know I am a massive fan of MUA and their eyeshadows, I think for the price you pay for them and the quality you get is utterly amazing! So I was very excited when I found out that they were bringing out their Pro range along with many of you though I have been having so much trouble trying to get my hands on the range, so when I went along to TOWIB a few weeks ago and the MUA girls were there I was finally able to get my hands on a couple of their sought after palettes.

MUA Pro Palettes in Starry Night and Heaven and Earth
£4.00 Each

Starry Night

Starry Night - Top Row

Starry Night - Bottom Row

Heaven and Earth

Heaven and Earth - Top Row

Heaven and Earth - Bottom Row

Now when I buy a single MUA Eyeshadow for £1 I think I am getting an utter bargain but to get 12 of their eyeshadow for £4 in these palettes are absolutely amazing, the quality of them is beyond believable with an almost creamy and buttery texture that just glides of with ease. If you have used one of their £1 eyeshadows you will know exactly what I am on about.

The Palettes don't have any matte shades though so if you are looking for that then maybe these aren't for you but for me they are just perfect as I love a bit of metallic pearly eyeshadow, they also have such little fallout which again is a bonus and something that expensive eyeshadows even fail on.

Overall I think they are fantastic and I actually haven't used much else other than my Heaven and Earth palette since I got it, I also really want to get my hands on some more of the pro range, I just need to find a Superdrug near me that stocks it or actually has it in stock.

I Went For The Chop!!

Hellooooo!!!

So today I went to RUSH in Oxford Street to get my hair cut!
My stylist was called Kimberly and she was so lovely, she listened to exactly what I wanted and then worked with me throughout the whole cut asking if I needed any more off in certain places and making sure I knew exactly what was going on throughout too.

So here is my hair before...

And this is it now...

I absolutely love it :)

It is so nice to have short hair again and hair that I actually want, my longer hair was getting so heavy!

Is Laurens Way The Only Way?

Hey Girls!

So lately I seem to of been on a quest for the best fake tan around and I have to say I think my search may finally be over thanks to Laurens Way!

I had been wanting to try Laurens Way for ages and when I went to buy it sadly there was no stock, so I just moved on to the next one but I kept seeing these pesky little tweets saying how amazing it was so it was still in the back of my mind...... Cue TOWIB where I was lucky enough to get the tanning lotion! *Squeals*

Now I have to tell you this has got to be hands down the most amazing tan I have tried.... Not only does it smell like chocolate orange, apply like a dream, dries quickly for a lotion and just seems to be genuinely fool proof it also gives you the most amazing olive skin tan!.
There is no orange tones in sight, I even tanned the backs of my hands and my feet without getting the dreaded deeper orange hand/foot syndrome. Over the time it was developing there was no fake tan smell and only the faintest whiff of it in the morning when I woke up but after popping in the shower to wash off the guide colour that was gone, never to return.

The Tan Itself
(Day 3 picture, forgot to take one straight away sorry)

Now I tanned last Monday night and I can tell you today I still have a slight tan left over from using it, it has faded evenly with no patchiness and I shower with exfoliating gloves everyday!

So is Laurens Way the only way? I think it is for me!
I'm off to go and smother myself in some more now so tomorrow I can look like I just stepped off a plane from my holidays.

Summer Sunday Blogging Series - Lisa from It Is All About Creativity

Hi everyone, I'm Lisa from itisallaboutcreativity and i pretty much jumped at the chance to do a guest post on Charli's blog as I've followed it for a long time! Like Charli, I love lip products, more now than I ever have so I thought I'd do my top summer lip products for you all!

First up is Loreal Colour Riche in Pink Grapefruit. Its a beautiful colour that from bullet to lip is two different colours, I found this lipstick in a Glamour magazine as a little sample thing and I loved the colour. Although I don't care for Loreals other products I had to get this! Its so summery and looks gorgeous with liquid liner and beige eyeshadow. It has a balm like texture but does last and doesn't slide in the heat.

Secondly is one of my favourite and cheapest lipsticks I own. MUA shade 4 is one of the nicest colours I've had. Sadly in process of this blog post it broke, but I don't mind as I can easily afford at £1 a pop! This is a sheer colour which was a surprise but I also like the colour it gives and it is just a nice alternative to beige nudes.

This next gloss looks rare, but I can assure you it isn't. Although I got this gloss in the Impulse/Barry M offer, I'm pretty sure the same colour is available in the normal range. I hope you can see in the picture (enlarge if not) the beautiful iridescent glitter in this, I can definitely see blue particles in the glitter so this helps with those who suffer with discolouration in teeth and with my braces it can be shown. Its beautiful colour and I love wearing this as it tastes and smells like Jelly Babies!!

Finally Sleek Pout Polishes are one of my newest investments but I love it! I used to think these were just expensive Vaseline's but they so aren't. They are thick glosses which I use a lipbrush to apply with. They look amazing and come in varieties of colours, they aren't sticky in the slightest and you can apply over a lipstick too. With every collection there is a new one and this one here is from the Avoir La Peche collection. Although its orange, its quite flattering and if you don't own a orange lipgloss/stick then I recommend investing in one for the summer as its such a lovely colour with freckles or a tan!!

Thank you Charli for letting me guest post and I hope you enjoyed my summer lip product favourites! If you'd like to read more from me, I'd love it if you checked out my blog at itisallaboutcreativity.blogspot.com

NOTD - W7 Fluorescent Pink!

Hello You Lovely Bunch!!

At the moment I am really loving bright BRIGHT nails and I think I have found the perfect one!

W7 Fluorescent Pink - £1.00

First off this polish is HUGE! A massive 15ml for £1 is amazing and it applied like a dream, two coats and I was done!

The colour is so much brighter than what it looks here and is more an intense bright hot pink, so I am a bit sad that in the pictures its coming off more orange. The colour itself if very much similar to Pool Party by China Glaze, it compliments my skin tone so well and also seems to make my tan seem deeper... Bonus!!

I found mine at a local market (East Street - If any of you are close by and want a nose) but W7 products seem to pop up everywhere as I have seen them in Savers, 99p and £1 Shops, Peacocks and New Look.

How Do You Use Yours?! 10 Ways To Use NARS Orgasm Illuminator

Hello Cupcakes!!

Now I am a lover of all things Make Up and generally enjoy playing with different bits, finding new things and trying out different ways to use things..... Now when I come across a totally useless item of Make Up I have to play with it to find a way it can be used to its best advantage!
So I thought I would share with you guys how I use my NARS Orgasm Illuminator because when I tweeted earlier if anyone else thought it was the most pointless thing in the world a lot of you gave me a big fat YES!!

So here it is in all its glory, it looks wonderfully pretty in the tube and once squirted out but wait.... Where did it go? Yes that's right, once you blend it in it does in fact disappear leaving what I see to be a few gold speckles behind!

10 Ways To Use NARS Orgasm Illuminator

1. Place on top of all your cheap make up to bring your collection into a higher class and trick people into thinking you only buy high end Make Up.

2. Use as a Paperweight - Never shall a pesky breeze make your papers flutter away!

3. Use it as a Doorstop, works a treat on my living room door.

4. Store Hairbands on it!

5. Use it as a Bookmark, no more finding page 197 or that old bus pass you shoved in there!

6. Use in self defence - Aim at the eyes!

7. Balance it on top of your door and wait for it to fall on someone = Hilarious!!

8. Jam your window open with it

9. Store your Jewellery on it

10. Let your other Make Up laugh at it!

So there you have it 10 fabulous ways that you can use it, let me know if you have any others that I can try as these are the only uses I get out of it.

In all seriousness though, I really don't see the point of it! It's not a great illuminator, you cant use it as a highlight and to me it just seems like a tube of nothingness... If there is any illuminating shimmer left behind after you have blended it in they seem to group together and do nothing, that's the only way I can explain it.

How do you use yours?

My Handbag Make Up Essentials!

Helloooo!!

It feels like I have been away for ages when in reality it hasn't been that long, maybe that's just due to the fact that I haven't posted much over the last 2 weeks or so. I'm sorry about that and I know everyone says you shouldn't say sorry but I genuinely love blogging, it takes my mind of things that have been going on and I have missed it but have just felt like I haven't been in a place where I can concentrate much on my life let alone sit down and write something I would feel OK about posting.

Well now I've got my little sorry out the way lets get to the reason you are here.... Make Up!!

So when I go out I always take my make up bag with me that will always hold the same essentials, the only thing that ever seems to change in it is what lip product I take. The reason I take the items I am going to show you with me is because I hate being caught short and when you are me that could happen a lot! There's always them moments when I am out, its getting late and my mate will go stay at mine or an impromptu night out so I always like to know help is at hand with what I have.

My Handbag Make Up Bag!
Picked this up for £1 in Primark about a year ago and I still love it!

The Contents!
Yes this all really fits in that small bag..

Face Wipes
I always carry face wipes in my make up bag, at the moment it is the Witch cleansing and toning wipes.
I carry these because sometimes if I am going out after work I like to re-apply my make up so take it off or if I end up staying out at a friends house I can always take my make up off without having to worry.

Lipgloss/Lipstick
At the moment I have the Collection 2000 Cream Puff Lip creams in Fairy Cake and Cotton Candy in there as they are very moisturising and the colours are great to wear during the day or the night. (Read my review here)

Face Products
Foundation - I am so silly as I forgot to photograph it in with this lot, but I always carry with me my foundation so I know no matter where I am I can always re-do my whole make up if needs to be. At the moment I have gone back to my trustworthy Bourjois Healthy Mix as the days are heating up and this is comfortable to wear, plus gives me a flawless complexion.
Face Powder - I always carry powder with me, it is my must have carry with me make up item. This one is my Avon pressed powder and as you can see I have hit pan which I was quite sad about as I love this stuff and they no longer sell this one :(
Blusher - I need blusher to feel normal! I always carry around this one by Sleek which is Pan Tao from the Avoir la peche collection, I love it and seems to compliment my skin tone so well... It also looks amazing with a tan!
Bronzer - I feel ill and pasty without a wash of bronzer so this is an essential in my make up bag, it also doubles as an eyeshadow and a highlight for them moments when I need to do something with my make up.

Mascara and Eyeliner
I have so many of both of these as they are my all time favourites! I think I would cry if I never had these and I don't feel like me without my trusty black flick and fluttery black lashes.

Brushes
These 2 are from E.L.F and I carry them everywhere with me so I can apply my Blusher, Bronzer and Powder at any time throughout the day.

So this is what I lug about with me everyday no matter where I go.

What do you always have to have with you?

Summer Sunday Blogging Series - Klee from Hello World

hi! i'm klee and i tend to blog over at hello world but i thought it'd be a nice idea to take part in charli's summer series with my favourite makeup picks for the warmer weather.. or apparent warmer weather anyway! i know a lot of people tend to not wear a lot during this time of year, and i try not to either but there's just some things i can't do without (i'm looking at you, black liner).

l'oreal superliner, makeup forever smoky lash, mac vegas volt lipstick, mac e/s in espresso & expensive pink, mac cream base in pearl, mac tippy blush, benefit you rebel lite
i'm naturally quite pale and i don't particularly tan well.. i used to hate it but i've accepted that the bronze look just isn't for me, unfortunately! i tend to swap foundation for tinted moisturiser and shimmery blush for matte - and add a creamy highlighter on high points of my face. to compensate for lack of shimmer on my cheeks i make up for it on the eyes and finish with a bright lipstick. VIOLA! literally takes 5 minutes and you're good to go!

TOWIB!!

Hellooooo!

So yesterday I popped into Holborn to attend The Only Way Is Blogging event which was organised by the lovely Hayley from London Beauty Queen

As you all know the weather was lovely yesterday.... NOT! It pissed it down the entire day. So my day started turning up at Holborn tube, seeing the rain and nearly crying at the thought of not having a brolly and my hair running! I then see a man selling brolly's ran over to him and swiftly bought one.... Brilliant!
Me and Alex then skipped along down to The Pitcher and Piano, where we found a seat and met the lovely Gem and Siobhan... We laughed our socks off (Not that any of us was wearing any... I don't think!) Gem is lovely and a secret Vicks junkie so you have to watch out for her and Siobhan is equally as lovely without the addiction to Vicks ;)

Then popped along Grace, Lauren and Tanya who I swiftly talked the ears off... Please forgive me for this girls as that is what Strawberry and Lime Cider does to you on an empty stomach and the fact I am a talkative loony too :)
Then met Natalie and Vivianna both of who I was so excited to meet, although I didn't get to talk to them for as long as I wanted.

MUA were there to talk about the new items in their Pro range and also Dove were there too, to talk about some of their haircare bits and body lotions.

*Cue photos stolen from Gem.... She's so proud*

The MUA girls were so lovely and they even bought a make up artist with them to do 3 different looks on 3 lucky bloggers which looked lovely.
Dove had bought the only man with them and I can say he did good being in a room full of chatty beauty bloggers, as he was talking about the range Alex just burst out with...'Go Fresh... I love Go Fresh! I use it in my shower' *Alex does her in shower re-enactment as I place my hand to my head because I'm with a loon*

Next up we had a Q&A Session with British Beauty Blogger, Really Ree and London Beauty Queen, but I couldn't hear a thing as I was at the back :(

Then Ree gave us a demo on how to use Laurens Way Tan, yes I am talking a full on demo of her actually applying the tan to her arms... Using the mousse on one arm and lotion on the other in a badly lit room and it still came out well. I am so excited to try this out, I can't even actually begin to explain how excited I am because I had tried buying it a little while ago and it was out of stock then when they had some I had no money...... Eeeeek can't wait!!!

The goodies from the day!

And that was the end of TOWIB!

Although my day didn't end there, we ended up going to another pub eating then meeting my friend Emma and going on to another pub where we proceeded to have the funniest night I have had in a long time!

Make Up Store - Cyber Shadow in Rising Sun

Heeeyy guys, Im back again!

I recently attended the iFabbo event at the powder rooms in
Soho, I really enjoyed this event as I thought venue was lovely and very well put together. There was many things in my goodie bag but one item caught my eye and that was this eye shadow.

Make up store - Cyber Shadow
Rising Sun £11.00

I really like this eye shadow as its an unusual colour, something I wouldn't necessary pick out if I was shopping, but I tried it on as soon as I got home and I loved it. It really made the green in my eyes come out and made my eyes look vibrant. Its a lovely gold colour and its really easy to apply, unlike some eye shadows you only need one little sweep for the colour to be noticeable unlike some that you have to layer up just to see the colour, you can layer up if you want an intense gold colour. It feels really smooth and silky and lasts for many, many hours.

So anyways that was another post to add to my collection haha, I hope you guys enjoy reading this and take a trip down to The Make Up store and see what vibrant and amazing colours you can get for yourselves :)
Thankssss
Love and Kisses Always..

Summer Sunday Blogging Series - Hannah from Which Way To Wonderland?

Beauty Products with SPF

When thinking of summer, most people think about hot holidays, being outside and lounging on the beach or in our gardens soaking up the summer sun. But what is this actually doing to our bodies? Sunbathing can dramatically increase the chance of getting skin cancer so it is very important to remember to use some sort of protection when being exposed to the sun!

Sun cream may not seem like the ‘coolest’ thing to most people but it will help to look after our skin and keep us looking young and healthy! However, for the slightly more ‘makeup obsessed’ there is something else that you could use...

Beauty products with SPF!

Most facial beauty products nowadays contain SPF to help protect our skin against the damaging rays of the sun. What could be better?! Pretty makeup and protection at the same time!

One of my favourites is Benefit’s ‘You Rebel’.

Benefit’s ‘You Rebel’ is a tinted moisturiser containing SPF. It feels and applies like any other tinted moisturiser and still has great coverage but it helps your skin too! It’s also very lightweight which means it’s great to wear for summer days! The subtle colour gives you a natural looking glow but does not leave you looking like an oompa-loompa!

Other products from brands such as Covergirl and MAC also have SPF in the formula!

Covergirl Natureluxe Liquid Silk Foundation with SPF 10

MAC Select SPF 15 Foundation

So, the next time you go out looking to buy a new foundation, or other facial product, check the label! Make you sure you pick up one with SPF! Although these products may  not be as effective as normal sun cream, as you would expect, but it is a start!
It’s the little things that make the difference; act now, or pay for it later!

Thank you for reading :)

Collection 2000 Cream Puff

Hello Ladies!

I actually think I may have found the matt lip colour of my dreams and that's only after one day!

Collection 200 Cream Puff Moisturising Lip Cream in Fairy Cake
£2.99

Sponge Applicator

Beautiful Coral

Well maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration but I do adore this lip cream. I have never really been one for matt lip products as to me they always seem a tad drying and always seem to look yak on the lips but for me this one is different, maybe that's due to the fact its a lip cream? As you apply it, it feels like velvet and completely moisturising. It also doesn't leave your lips feeling or looking like a shriveled up prune as I think some matt colours do.

Its lasting ability is quite good with about 3 hour wear and the colour is a beautiful coral, which is completely up my street. The best thing about this for me is the fact that it doesn't actually feel like you are wearing anything on your lips and feels as light as air, which I think is going to be perfect for them warm days when you don't want to feel like you are wearing anything.

I also think the price of them are really good at only £2.99 although they are relatively smaller (5mls) than your average lipgloss but I think the feel and design of them are much more luxe than your average collection 2000 lip product. I think there are 3 other colours in the range which are a Pink, Nude and a Beige.

Where do you guys stand on matt lips? What is your favourite matt lip product?
