Benefit - Tan About Town

Hey girls!

A few of you were asking what the Tan About Town from Benefit was like since I posted my haul so I thought I would let you know.

Tan About Town - £9.00 from Benefit and ASOS

Contents - Some Kind-a Gorgeous Foundation 1.8g, Badgal Lash 4g and Hoola Bronzer 3g

Some Kind-a Gorgeous Foundation in Medium

Some Kind-a Gorgeous Foundation in Medium

Hoola Bronzer

Hoola Bronzer - Heavily swatched and blended out

Badgal Lash Mascara

I picked this up as I had always wanted to try Hoola and Something Kind-a Gorgeous but never wanted to fork out the full price of them in case I didn't like them because Some Kind-a Gorgeous only comes in three colours (light, medium and deep) and I have read that Hoola can be quite muddy looking so obviously this only being £9.00 plus Benefit had 15% off I thought I might as well seeing as I was buying other bits anyway.

First impressions were that I loved the little dainty sized products, the packaging is lovely and you also get a decent amount of product in each to try out but if you are thinking about getting just know that they only do the one foundation shade in this which is medium, no light or deep option. I am not the greatest fan of Badgal Lash Mascara but I have always known that since I first tried it a few years back, don't get me wrong its a nice mascara but just not the greatest one I've tried.

Some Kind-a Gorgeous looks so much darker in the pan than what it is once on the skin and is easily blendable to an almost non existent look and a very soft semi powder finish, I would say this is a very light coverage and evened out a bit of redness on my face but didn't really last that long 4 hours at maximum which is sad as I was really wanting to like it. I also think it smells a bit like marzipan and plastic which I am not the greatest fan of as it reminds me of these foul cakes an old next door neighbour used to make.

Hoola is actually quite nice, a matte bronzer which is really good for contouring although you don't want to get too heavy handed with it otherwise you will look like you've been abusing the fake tan or even worse a sun bed! The smell of it is absolutely amazing but the bad thing is the product fall out, no matter what brush I have used it just seems to be the same that it becomes very dusty and leaves lots of loose product on the top.

Badgal Lash to me is just another mascara, it doesn't do anything great or give me that wow factor like some have but it will get used so its not wasted money or being chucked to the back of a draw with the rest of my unloved make up.

Overall I do think this little set is pretty decent for the £9.00 price tag seeing as a normal sized Badgal Lash (8.5g) is £16.50 a full size Hoola (8g) is £23.50 and Some Kind-a Gorgeous (9.5g) is £23.50 which means in this little set you are getting over £20 worth of product for a small price and if you like all of them then its money well spent.

All of these products shall now enter my on the go make up bag as the are small, wont take up much space and are excellent for on the go touch ups which also means I wont run the risk of losing or breaking some of my much loved full sized products too.

What do you think of Tan About Town, worth the money? Nice little stocking filler?

It's All About The Lips!

Hey girls!

When I think of myself and the products I love the most I always can't decide as I have a lot of different things and would just say in general make up is my weakness but I know deep down inside there is something that grabs me more than any other.... Lipsticks!!

That's right I am a Lipstick whore!
I am always cheating on every lipstick I own with another and when I see a shiny new one that I need, the heart starts racing and I know I will soon be cheating again! Although I am ever so faithful to one lipstick in my collection and always make sure I have it about!.

MAC Lipsticks - £13.50 each

MAC Lipsticks - £13.50 Each

Hue

Hue

Lustering

Lustering

Now this is my 3rd Hue lipstick, I love it so much and I love the way that it just slightly blanks out my lip colour while adding a nice little sheen this is one of those lipsticks that I would feel lost without if it wasn't in my collection. I would say its a nice nude pink plus I love the fact that its moisturising, as its a glaze formula it is sheerer than your average lipstick but just as gorgeous!.

Lustering is my new love! I never even intended on buying it and have passed by it many times before but something as I was waiting for the girl in MAC to get me Hue came over me and I just stood there staring at it picking it up, swatching it, putting it down and then swatching some more it was that moment that I actually knew I didn't want it but I needed it in my life!. Its a gorgeous sheer bright pink, it actually reminds me a lot of Impassioned but without that in your face lip so maybe for those of you who are scared to wear a bright lip but have always longed over wearing could try this as a go between. Its a lustre finish which means its sheerer than other lipsticks but still with great pigmentation plus a high shine finish, this is actually one of my favourite finishes.

Are you a Lipstick whore or an ever so faithful girl?

Let me know

I ♥ Shopping!!

Hey girls!

I'm not gonna lie, I love to shop and that is what I have been doing plus as of today I can safely say I have bought every single Christmas present that I needed to buy and trust me there was a lot of them..... We have a HUGE family that we tend to see all of over Christmas so to have this all done by now is such a good feeling, plus this year no one has been forgotten ;) Ha!

I just thought I would share with you guys a few things that I have been buying...

Benefit

(I paid £25.07 and £7.65 as I got these when Benefit had 15% off the other week)

Project Flawless contains - Bella Bamba, Foxy Lady Lip Shine, mini BADgal Mascara and a deluxe mini Girl Meets Pearl.
Tan About Town contains - Deluxe mini Some Kind-a Gorgeous in Medium, deluxe mini Hoola and a mini BADgal Mascara
I also got a couple of other bits but I have to keep them under wraps as they are presents ;)

MAC

Don't really want to give too much away on them as they shall have their own post but one is a firm favourite and the other is a brand new one that I bought on impulse!

The Body Shop

The Body Shop currently have an offer on the body butters for 50% off so I actually got them for £6.25 each and the Candied Ginger for £1 because I spent over £26.00 I also then got an extra 10% off the total with my Love your body card so the total of this little lot was only £25.20 - Bargain!

Superdrug

Barry M Nail Effects in Silver Foil, Purple Crackle, Gold Foil and Limited Edition Purple Foil - £3.99 each

I could of actually gone mental in Superdrug with all the offers they had in there but instead I just got what I needed and picked up these few bits for me!
The nail varnishes were on an offer of spend over £6 on them and get a free limited edition purple foil effects free. The offer on the Fashionista Palettes is absolutely amazing I can tell you that! - Buy 3 of the mono eyeshadows or blushers and get the 4th one free along with the palette which is a saving of £9.00.

Primark

Rings - Panther - £2.50 Purple - £2.00 Key  - £1.00

I love Primark for accessories, they are so cheap and have really upped their game recently in how nice and non tacky their pieces look. I also have a massive obsessions with rings, think I have about 100 or more now.... Oops!

If you want to see swatches or reviews on any of these just let me know in the comments!

Have you been buying recently? Christmas shopping done or started?

PHB Mineral Miracles Foundation

Hello you gorgeous bunch!

So recently I was contacted by a lady from PHB (Pure Halal Beauty). They are the first of their kind selling halal beauty products in the UK, they are also vegan society registered so you can sleep safe knowing no little bunnies were harmed making them and they aren't going to have any animal ingredients in either. She kindly sent me a couple of their products to try and see what I thought about them, but I wanted to talk about their foundation today.

PHB Mineral Miracle Foundation - Light Olive

Left - Before - Right - After

When this first dropped through the letterbox I was eyeing it up thinking me and you are not going to get on, you see I'm a heavy coverage kind of girl who likes to make sure that the few scars and discolouration on my face are covered plus I have dry skin surely a powder was going to highlight that and make me look like a powdery cakey mess. I couldn't be more wrong, I learnt a lesson here - Never judge make up you haven't tried just by looking at it in the pan!.

I used my E.L.F Powder brush to apply it just nicely buffing it into my skin and I was instantly amazed, this didn't feel powdery but instead like it had turned into a liquid once applied to the skin. I then had to look at least 3 times into the mirror to check that what I was seeing was right because my complexion looked flawless and glowing, which I wasn't expecting seeing as this is a powder. It had also concealed all the discolouration on my face plus my scars which seem to always stand out seemed to of been covered, you could still see them if you shoved your face in the mirror and looked but they were nowhere near as noticeable as they have been.

I also noticed it felt like I was wearing nothing, its so light and my worries about it clingy to my dry skin were put to rest by the fact this actually feels moisturising?! I was starting to believe that this was called Minerals Miracles foundation for a reason but I calmed myself from thinking this as I didn't want it to be that first try love that many of us get... You know the one ;)
Anyway I have been using this every single day from that first try, the love and amazement is still all there I am even wearing it in my latest FOTD. I have worn this to work, applying it at 7:30am and it still looking the same by 7:00pm, I even actually think its helping keep my other make up on as my blusher seems to look exactly the same as when applied too. That miracles is definitely in the name for some reason.

Now I have never used a mineral foundation before so I have nothing to compare it to or any idea if this is what they all do or if this one is special but for me this has jumped into first place in my foundation hierarchy, which has surprised me.

The only down side I would say is that they do only have 8 shades to choose from but they do range from light to very dark along with catering for both pink and yellow undertones which I think is good and also I am not a great fan of the packaging as the writing on the lid has already starting to wear off plus the top of the jar is quite sharp and I have scratched myself a few times on it but this by all means doesn't mean that whats inside it isn't great.

Do you girls use mineral foundations? What do you think of this one?

Schwarzkopf Igora Senea Shampoo and Conditioner

Hey girls!

You all know I love to dye my hair regularly and doing this puts such a strain on my scalp, which means sometimes it can become sensitive and tight to the point where my regular shampoo and conditioner would sometimes irritate it more. I was then asked if I would like to try the new Igora Senea Shampoo and Conditioner by Schwarzkopf, I was a bit sceptical at first as I have tried shampoos and conditioners that claimed they were for sensitive scalps with them leaving me feeling worse than my regular shampoo and conditioner would. The thing that eased my mind was the fact it was Schwarzkopf and I know from experience they normally do what they claim with one of my favourite ever treatments coming from their BC range.

Availiable from escentual.com

What I love about salon brand shampoos and conditioners is the smell, they always have that amazingly fresh but subtle smell that makes you feel like you're in the salon at home just by smell recognition and to me that is a big thing! It makes me feel all warm, secure and safe but maybe that's just me because as you girls know I love make up, beauty products etc but my first love is hair and haircare. I could rave for hours about it but I wont bore you all with the details of how exciting the hair shaft can be haha!.

The Shampoo

Here is what the website has to say about the shampoo...

"Schwarzkopf Igora Senea Colour Shampoo is the ideal colour saving shampoo for those with a sensitive scalp.
The lightweight, mild formulation works to gently cleanse the scalp and the hair without irritation. Panthenol delivers hydration to dry and uncomfortable scalps, and helps to balance hair and scalp moisture content. The calming shampoo protects hair colour from fading, and enhances your hue for a more vibrant look without compromising on comfort."
From first use of this shampoo I noticed how soothing it was as I was washing my hair and also how soft my hair was feeling during the wash, as always I wash my hair twice before conditioning it. The shampoo itself is a clear shampoo that lathers really well and glides over the hair easily, you also only need a small amount as a little goes a very long way.

The Conditioner
Again I will let you know what the website has to say about it...
"Schwarzkopf Igora Senea Colour Conditioning Cream strengthens coloured hair whilst looking after your sensitive scalp.
This creamy conditioner gradually rebuild the hair's natural lipid balance for healthy, hydrated locks with increased strength and vitality. Colour fade is prevented with a gentle touch, while Aloe Essence and Panthenol reinforce the hair and scalp's moisture content. All of this and your hair is left feeling detangled, manageable and very soft. You really can have it all from your conditioner!"
This has got to be the best creamiest but lightweight feeling conditioner I have ever used, I actually don't think I can put into words how much I really do like this. It doesn't feel tacky or clumpy like some other conditioners can feel like but instead just creamy, light and luxurious. My hair feels instantly softer on just applying it and when you wash it out your hair feels so baby soft that I had to rinse it for longer as I thought it was impossible for it to feel like that without having product left in there.

After using both of them and drying my hair I was left with the most beautifully soft hair and my colour seemed revived, there was no sign of my straggly ends that need cutting and my scalp didn't have that tight feeling that it can sometimes get when I am having one of these bad sensitive stages.

I've been using both of these for the last 3-4 weeks and I can say my hair is feeling in much better condition than it was and my scalp hasn't had a flair up of sensitivity since which I think is absolutely great.

I also had a little nose online and saw that because Schwarzkopt do Igora salon dyes they have brought out the Igora Senea Permanent Haircolour which should be available in salons that stock Schwarzkopt, so for all of us that can get that itchy scalp feeling when getting our hair dyed this could be the new way forward. Its even been recommended by Dermatologists, is fragrance free and has no ammonia - This is something I am definitely going to look into trying next time I want to dye my hair.
I'd love to know what you guys think!

Accessorize Eyeshadow Duo in Freya

Hello you beautiful bunch!!

I love Accessorize make up, I think what draws me to them is the fact that they have butterflies on the packaging and then secondly the fact that they do have some amazing products. I picked up this beauty last pay day and I love it.

Left Side, Right Side and Both Swirled Together

First off I was drawn to this by the darker colour in it, I loved the marble effect with the golds and deep bronzes running through it. On swatching I realised I had to have it, just look how gorgeous them colours are!.

I love the fact that these are so soft and really well pigmented the formula is non chalky and although they are shimmery they are not at all glittery. I also love the fact that in just one pot you basically have 3 different colours that are perfect for creating a simple eye. They last really well too and even longer when wearing an primer.

You also get 4.5g of product in it so this is going to last for ages, especially for the price.

I think I need to buy a few more.

Lush Lovin' - Phoenix Rising

Hey Girls!!

As you know Lush have bought out a lot of new products recently and as soon as I saw this I wanted it!
Come on its purple, gorgeous and smells absolutely AMAZING.... Like Cinnamon and sweets!.

I couldn't wait to use this and after a long tiring day when needing to relax I thought here's my chance.

I ran my bath and popped it in, it started fizzing very slowly and I actually started to think it was a dud as when I read its description it said it would drop to the bottom and then rise up through the bath hence it being called Phoenix Rising. It took forever to fizz (about 10 minutes) just bobbing on the top of my bath but I forgave it for taking so long due to the fact the amazing smell was taking over my whole house.

I was quite amazed to see that there was a green middle and quite excited due to the fact it started fizzing faster after it had reached it. Once it had finally all fizzed out it had left my bath a light purple and smelling so good.

The water felt so soft and was really relaxing it also left my skin feeling really soft with a slight gold sheen to it, not anything sparkly or overly glittery just a little glow. The only down side I do have about this is that it stained my bath a lot, took me forever to clean it out and get the purple stains off so for that reason I wont be buying it again even though I really like it.

Have you tried this? How did you find it?
Will you be buying?
