Illamasqua is a brand that I love, I could trail off a list of 101 things why and still be able to carry on.... For me it's not the fact that they make pretty make up because yes they really do but it's down to the fact of what they stand for and that they know everyone likes to be different and make up should be an extension of your personality or even as Illamasqua like to say your alter ego.
When we entered the room the first thing I noticed was a bike covered in flowers in front of a blank white canvas then swiftly my eyes diverted to a woman doing anothers make up, this woman was in fact Alex Box - Illamasqua's Creative Director working her magic (as you can see in the photo above). We then saw the collection which is absolutely gorgeous!! The mix of bright and neutral colours is fantastic, plus the textures of Liquid Metal, Cream Pigment and two powder eyeshadows in the 'Fundamental Palette' is something that made me just want it, I had also fallen 100% madly in love with the 'Neutral Palette' as soon as I laid my eyes on it and upon swatching 'Vintage' an Antiqued Gold I was completely smitten... Seriously the softest eyeshadow I have ever touched!.
In the Human Fundamentalism collection there is also 6 powder eye shadows that range from neutral to bright, two lipsticks - Box a deep scarlett red and Apocalips a bright teal which are stunning.... Yes even the teal. There are also 2 very wearable nail polishes - Stance (Purple) and Nomad (Jade), a skin base in AU which is a deep bronzed colour and finally what has to be one of the most intriguing things for me in the whole collection - Scribe, a pure white Precision Ink which I was very lucky to be gifted at the event and I can't wait to start playing with.
I love the whole ethos behind Human Fundamentalism as a collection, its a celebration of who we are as people no matter our age, race or any other factor that defines a human being. It also is about becoming who you are and not who we as people are told to be, to celebrate and embrace our individuality because that is what truly makes us thrive. I love the fact Alex Box said the inspiration behind it is 'You are the palette' - Truly inspiring words.
I don't think I have ever been so excited about a collection!
The collection is now available for pre-order online at Illamasqua and is available online and in stores globally from the 14th of March...
Will you be buying anything from the collection?
