MAC Viva Glam Nicki

I'm a bit late to the party with this one although I have owned it pretty much since it came out, I just didn't blog about it because of the abundance of posts I saw as soon as it was released.

This lipstick for me is beautiful, I can't describe my love for it.
It was one of those that I saw swatches of and thought 'Oh I'm not to sure, do I need it?' then swatched it myself and was completely sold.

For me this lipstick seems like its an ever changing sort of colour for every person who wears it, as I have seen so many pictures online where it looks completely different to the colour I get and completely different to the colour in the bullet. As with most MAC lipsticks this glides on effortlessly giving a good burst of colour in one swipe and can easily have another layer added on top for a little more intense colour, Viva Glam Nicki lasts around the four hour mark on me although on some days when I am drinking loads etc it may only last around 2-3 hours.

The best thing about this is you can buy it safe in the knowledge that every single penny of the purchase price goes to charity - The MAC Aids Fund.

Have you got Viva Glam Nicki? Are you warranting a sneaky purchase of it?

Moroccan Oil Light

I am one of those people who can't get enough of haircare, if I could buy every single hair product that takes my fancy and slather them all over my hair I would. I am also a massive lover of hair oils, since they came about as the new in thing and there was more to choose from I made it my mission to want to try almost every one I could get my hands on...

Moroccan Oil is probably the most talked about hair oil out there, I see it in loads of salons as a massive selling point and also see loads of people wanting to try it. I already have the original version and I absolutely love it so when I was given the chance to try the light version I thought why not, now my hair is very coarse and rebellious so I was thinking it may not be so great to do what the other was doing but I had started to notice that the heavier one was making my coloured hair look a little dull and maybe the light version wouldn't do that.

I can safely say this product is an absolute godsend, it doesn't make your hair heavy and no matter how much I use of it my hair never feels heavy or weighed down. The whole colour looking dull is no more with instead my hair looking much more alive and like my colour was given a whole new lease of life (this was before dying it again). I recently dyed my hair again and normally my hair will look a little frazzled after doing so but I just pop a good load of this in as a pre-wash treatment and my hair is left looking absolutely amazing and feeling instantly lighter and more manageable.

The fact you also don't need to use much of this either is great meaning even the small bottle that I have shall last you for a very long time, I've had mine for around a month now and you can barely see a dent in it.

Overall a really good hair oil that I would recommend to anyone looking for something to do exactly what it claims on the label.

Have you tried Moroccan Oil? Do you have a favourite hair oil?

Avon SuperShock Max Mascara

Most of you will know that my favourite mascara of all time is the Avon SuperShock, I am so scared that they will stop selling it that whenever its on offer I buy far too many of them so I never have to face the fear of running out any time soon. A few months back when they bought out SuperShock Max I knew I had to try it and see if it could compare or do any better than its namesake...

I love the blue tube, it makes it easy to be able to find amongst my draws full of black products and I also really like the wand, I'm very much a plastic bristle kinda gal when it comes to my mascaras... I feel like they glide through so much more better and define my lashes better than normal bristles.

I think the formula of SuperShock Max is definitely thicker than the original SuperShock which obviously applies a lot more product onto the lashes making them look a lot thicker and fuller than they were before. As you can see in the picture above that just after two quick swift coats my lashes are dramatically fuller and longer.

This hasn't replaced my love for SuperShock as it is my go to every day mascara but this has definitely become my night time mascara plus the fact that it is so black helps.

I never pay full prices for these mascaras though as Avon will always have some sort of offer where you can get them half price or get another make up item free, so they end up working out really cost effective.

Have you tried the original SuperShock or the Max one? What do you think?

Japonesque Pro Powder Brush

Can you fall in love with a brush? Because if you can I totally have with this one!

First off this brush is HUGE!! Like I mean absolutely massive, I don't think I have seen a brush as long as it in my whole make up obsessed life. Don't let the size put you off though because I believe its one of the reasons I absolutely adore this so much.

The bristles are so fluffy and soft with the brush being shaped into a perfect dome, that seems to get into every single nook and crannie on your face. The bristles feel so nice on the skin, none of this scratching and loads of excess product falling off the brush happening that I know I get with some brushes plus the fact it has a long handle makes it so good to work with.

The handle gives you so much control over how your application is with the higher up you hold it the lighter your touch is and in my opinion its how I achieve a gorgeous flawless finish.

I have also washed this brush twice since I got it and I can report that it washes beautifully, regains its shape perfectly and not one bristle fell out.

Now I'm not one to go and spend nearly £30 on a brush because I have never seen the point but after using this I am certanly feeling a very expensive brush buying session going on very soon because the quality is amazing and the extra long handles are drawing me in.

Have you tried any Japonesque brushes?

I Jumped On The Revlon Lip Butter Bandwagon!

Ah long time no proper blog hey!

As the title suggests I jumped on the bandwagon of getting a Revlon Lip Butter, I spent ages swatching them then liked about 5 and then only actually liked one out of all the ones they had to offer. I then was a tad disappointed in it as I thought hmm it doesn't live up to the hype... I'm now slightly eating my own words!

First off I like the packaging with the colour coordinated lid and quilted effect, it makes this look much more expensive than it is plus the lid isn't one to be easily knocked off and stays firmly in place so you can pop this in your bag with no worries of it slipping off and ending up with a messy bag or worse still a hairy fluffy lip butter!.

When I first bought this I didn't really like it, I didn't get the fuss or all the hype around it to me it just seemed like a pigmented lip balm that left a nice bit of colour on my lips.... I could get something like that for cheaper or I already owned something very similar. I popped it in my bag and then began using it frantically, almost having a panic attack at the mere thought of not having it with me and alas a little love (or obsession) of the Revlon Lip Butter was born.

Now it is a good product, it is very moisturising and does leave a good colour pay off on the lips and I would liken it to a really moisturising sheer lipstick although some of the ones I have swatched and seen on other blogs are highly pigmented. I thought this one is a good every day colour, it goes with everything and has very little gold shimmer particles in it which leaves a lovely sheen on the lips.

The down side of this for me is the fact that its not long wearing, I've had it about a week and I have used over half of it because I feel the need to reapply and it is also prone to getting very soft, bending all over the place and just basically starting to look a bit manky. Not something that I particularly like.

Over all though I do like it and it is a great little product but I think possibly for the price and how quickly I seem to be getting through it I don't think I shall buy another once this one has gone.

Have you tried the Revlon Lip Butters?

Where Have I Been?

Hey Girls!

I know I don't need to write an explanation as to where I've been or anything like that but I feel like I owe it to you guys because over the last couple of months my blogging has been appalling and its not because I have lost my mojo or anything like that, its simply because of what I'm about to tell you...

Late January the start of February (I can't remember when as days have just become a blur) my younger sister had something terrible happen to her and she opted to come and live with me (she's completely fine and theres no need to be worried about her). So basically I have had a new addition into my household and am trying to adjust, especially to the fact that I am now caring for a teenager who is very much like I was at her age.

I never actually realised how hard it is to parent a teenager (I praise my mum for doing it), especially your sister! But now there's a stark line from where sister ends and responsible adult who is looking after her every need comes into play, I need to make sure she isn't making the wrong choices and isn't getting into trouble while making sure she's going to school and obeying a curfew! So much more to it than just looking after Tapanga, plus they like to wind each other up so there is always some sort of screaming or crying going on.

It's a bit of a struggle trying to find a point where I can sit down without any sort of distraction and blog right now, I need to be able to find some sort of happy medium which hasn't yet been found. There's just so many questions when I'm trying to do something or photograph things for posts, whenever I have tried to write a post it has taken me near on 4 hours just for that to happen because there is always some sort of drama or a million and one questions over why a lipstick is pink... You get my drift! And when I do have like a few hours completely to myself all I want to do is lay on the sofa, read blogs, watch YouTube and enjoy the quiet.

I promise I am going to be back soon properly, hopefully this week I can grab a few hours where I can write up a few posts and have them scheduled to go up. I also know I need to choose a giveaway winner and I will get round to doing that shortly, I just really haven't had the time.

I hope you are all well and stick with me while I find my new parenting feet.
