Happy Birthday GlossyBox!

So GlossyBox has turned 1 this month, all I can say is wow a year really does go quite quickly doesn't it? I remember the whole beauty blogging community going a bit crazy over this mystery box that was being likened to the Birchbox in America and I for one was hot on the heels for subscribing... I love getting my Glossybox every month, yes they are a bit hit and miss but that's what you are subscribing to.... The surprise!

1) Noble Isle Summer Rising Bath and Shower Gel
2)Osmo Berber Oil Hair Treatment
3) Apivita Express Beauty Masks
4) Lolita Lempicka Perfumes
5) HD Brows Brow Beater
6) Glossybox Mirror

I'm quite pleased with the selection I got in my box, I especially like the Brow Beater and the Hair Oil as they are the types of products I like the most. The mirror was a nice addition and has now taken a little spot in my bag as my other one was looking a bit scratched and worn, I also think the perfumes smell really nice as for the Shower Gel and the Beauty Masks I haven't tried them yet so I can't comment if I like them or not.

Are you a GlossyBox subscriber or will you be subscribing?

Kate Moss Spring Lipstick for Rimmel in Shade 20

So me and my lipstick whoring ways are back and I have to say I feel totally ashamed at the amount of them I have right now, did I mention I have at least another 4 on the way? No!... Hurry up Mr Postman! Anyway like any lipstickaholic browsing through Boots I spot this beaut of a lippie, yes I have about 30 of the same colour or shade but I needed to have it and ultimately I'm glad I decided to whore myself out to another one.

Its gorgeous, its pink, its bright and its loud! Basically everything I look for in a lipstick and more, it glides on effortlessly and leaves an opaque colour in just one swipe that lasts on me for around 4 hours. It also has a really nice smell that kind of reminds me of watermelon sweets.

Ah another lipstick to love... My heart is content!

Have you got any of the Kate Moss Lipsticks?

The Body Shop Satsuma Hand Cleanse Gel

Not a lot of people know this about me but I am a bit of an obsessive hand washer type person, I hate shaking peoples hands for the fact of I don't know where they've been or getting on a bus/tube/train is like my worst nightmare because I have to hold on to the bars and the amount of germs they must have freak me out... This is why I always keep a bottle of this by my bed, in my front room and in my bag.

Satsuma Hand Cleanse Gel - £2.50

Since I discovered this I have been through around 20 bottles of the stuff, they are normally on some sort of offer at The Body Shop and I am always stocking up.

The smell of this one is absolutely divine, I have a massive thing for The Body Shops Satsuma range anyway and this just takes that obsession up to another notch... Its not overpowering or artificial its just fresh and zingy! It also doesn't have that stagnant alcohol smell most hand gels do although it does have a tiny antiseptic smell at first but that is never noticeable once it has been rubbed in.

A little squirt goes a long way and doesn't leave your hands feeling dry either, plus it also gets rid of sticky fingers which for me is a plus especially when I am out and about with the messiest 7 year old in the world!

I think in total there are 5 different scents of these hand gels... Satsuma, Strawberry, Lemon, Mango and Coconut. I haven't tried any of the others though as I am too obsessed with this one!

Have you tried these?

17 Mirror Shine Lipstick in Peace

I told you all I have a problem with lipsticks didn't I? Well if you haven't noticed I really do, I could keep a whole host of people topped up in them and then some. Last payday I had a little splurge in Boots which resulted in me getting two new lipsticks and this one is my favourite out of the two...

As you can see in the bullet it looks like a bright orange sort of colour but in fact when swatched or on the lips its more a pink, which I absolutely love!.

The lipstick itself is moisturising and leaves a nice glossy finish to the lips, I think the only bad thing I have to say about this and all of the Mirror Shine Lipsticks is that they aren't long wearing and you do have to keep on using them if you want to keep your colour topped up with means they get used up quite quickly.

The L'Or Electric Collection by L'Oreal - The Eyeshadows

So to follow on from my post on Monday about the Lipsticks from The L'Or Electric Collection I thought I would bring you the eyeshadows today.

Colour Infillable Eyeshadows - £6.99 each*

L-R - Magnetic Coral and Metallic Lilac

These shadows are amazing and so creamy, they are like a hybrid of a powder and a cream as they are in fact a powder but glide on and have the staying power of a cream.

My favourite of the two has to be Metallic Lilac as its just so beautiful and I'm not too into wearing corals on my eyes, you can see in the picture above that it has flecks of lilac running through the grey... Its oh so beautiful and is great for creating the perfect smoky eye!.

Do any of these catch your eye? What do you think of the L'Or Electric collection so far?

L'Occitane Pivoine Delicate Collection

I'm a massive fan of L'Occitane, with one of their hand creams always being in my bag. The products they have come up with are amazing and always smell to die for, I am also a massive fan of their perfumes with them being so fresh and beautiful. I was sent a few products from their Pivoine Delicate Collection to try out and have been using them for the last few weeks so I thought I would let you know my thoughts on them.

L'Occitane Pivoine Delicate Collection*

Me and the shimmering powder didn't get on when I first opened it, with me not realising it had a stop cap on it I was puffing the puffer trying to get it to work then when I finally took it out a whole bunch poofed out in my face... So I can confirm this is not edible and tastes like perfumed powder, which left me me definite fairy breath afterwards!. But on to its actual use, which can be two ways... On the body or the hair. On the body it leaves a nice little shimmer and definitely makes the skin feel soft with a subtle scent, on the hair it gives the illusion of shine and leaves it scented which I kept on getting whiffs of. I wouldn't use this all the time though only on nights out and you have to be quite sparing with it as you really don't want to go out looking like an extra from Twilight.

The hand cream has L'Occitanes trademark hand cream feel to it, which is thick and luxurious while utterly moisturising without being heavy or sticky. The smell is absolutely amazing, fresh and florally! The lid of this one is a twist one which I love as I hate having to try to put a lid back on things as I have cream all over my hands, this has become a firm favourite in my handbag with everyone wanting to use some when I pull it out plus the cute pink packaging makes it to die for.

Ah my love, LIPSTICK! I was excited when I saw this, I am utterly obsessed with lipsticks and this just slotted in nicely into my collection.
The colour is a barely there pink that just adds a nice sheen, a little sparkle and a nice hint of colour... Perfect for them days when you don't want to be wearing much on your face or trying to perfect that no make up look. The lipstick itself is highly moisturising and has a very light fragrance which is the same as the whole collection.

Have you bought anything from this collection? Do you want anything?

Barry M Magnetic Nail Polish

So magnetic nails? I was a little scared by the whole concept of them, it was like I had arrived at the party late and the creepy drunk guy that looks like your dad was slobbering all over you scared. I really don't know what I was so worried about though... Its a nail polish and a magnet!! Maybe it was the fact of messing them up that I was worried about the most, all that effort put in to painting and then one slip of the magnet could cause disaster... See where I'm going here? Scary! But I can confirm they are easy so easy in fact my 7 year old daughter can do them with her eyes shut!.

Please excuse my shoddy application and utterly ugly cuticles!

I bought the blue and burgundy one as they were the colours I was drawn to the most, application is easy with you just painting your nail with the first coat and then after applying a second coat hovering the magnet above it for 5 seconds to achieve the design the magnet gives you. You need to do each nail separately though so you can't just paint all your nails with a second coat and expect the design to come out as the magnet only works when the polish is wet.

I think the blue one has to be my favourite especially the fact that it looks like fancy Union Jacks, maybe I shall paint my nails with it to celebrate the Jubilee or do them blue and red then use the magnet on them both... Works to plan ahead ;)

Are you into magnetic nails? Tried them?

The L'Or Electric Collection by L'Oreal - The Lipsticks

A couple of weeks ago I attended the launch of the new L'Or Electric Collection by L'Oreal, the collection is to celebrate them sponsoring Cannes Film Festival for the last 15 years. I instantly fell in love with the lipsticks as soon as that first swatch hit my hand, with their metallic goodness and two toned effect so I thought I would bring them to you first although I do have eyeshadows and nail varnishes to follow soon...

L'oreal Colour Riche Lipsticks - £8.16 each*

All the swatches are in order of the named lipsticks in the top photo.

These lipsticks are absolute gorge and the colour on the lips are completely different to the ones you see in the bullets, my favourite has to be Electric Fuchsia just for its gorgeous plummy pinky goodness.

They feel very nice on the lips and glide on like an absolute dream, feeling quite moisturising. They last a good amount of time especially Metallic Coral which lasts the longest with about 5 hours wear.

The whole L'Or Electric Collection will be available to buy on the 16th of May to coincide with Cannes starting, where they can be bought at your usual L'Oreal stockists like Boots and Superdrug.

What do you think of them? Will you be buying some?

Maybelline Colour Tattoos

There seemed to be some big sort of hype around these when they came out, I went swatched them and thought I doubt I will ever use them but then that niggling feeling in my head was telling me I wanted them actually it was telling me I needed them! I'm actually glad I listened to my head and went back to buy some as they have seemed to become my everyday eye product.

Maybelline Colour Tattoos - £4.99 each

Eternal Gold

On and On Bronze

Immortal Charcoal

Sometimes I am so lazy when it comes to doing my eyes all I want to do is shove a bit of colour over my lid so these are just perfect for this because all I need to do is swipe a clean finger in them then over my eyes and hey presto I am done, I have found these to all be really creamy and easy to work with although Eternal Gold does seem a bit (what I can only describe as) bitty which I think shows in the swatch because it has some glitter particles in where On and On Bronze and Immortal Charcoal are just more of a smooth metallic eyeshadow.

These are great at staying put all day and I have experienced no creasing except with Eternal Gold which I would say was very minimal and after about 4/5 hours wear, again I think it is down to the fact it seems like a bit of a different formula because of the glitter, although the glitter that is in it is by no way gritty or very sparkly.

The only problem I seem to have with them is sometimes when I am removing my make up they can be a bit of a pain to get off although if I have my trustworthy Cleanse and Polish to hand they are removed like a dream.

Have you tried Colour Tattoos? What are your favourite colours?
