Famous Cosmetics Shining Star Shimmer Brick in Lady Shimmer

Sometimes a girl just needs a good bit of shimmer!
Now although I don't like looking like a disco ball, I do like a good old highlight and a nice look of a healthy sheen every now and again. So that's where the Famous Shining Star Shimmer Brick can come into play.

Famous Cosmetics Shining Star Shimmer Brick - £6.49*

Famous have a range of four shimmer bricks - The Mariah, Rihanna, Beyonce and Lady Shimmer. The one I have is Lady Shimmer and for me I would say it is the best out of the four, it has 5 gloriously golden shades which are colours that I always tend to be drawn towards.

I find that this works really well as a highlighter when swirled altogether and if you concentrate towards different colours on the brick you can create a more bronzed highlight or a more subtle one depending on what sort of look you are going for. I also use the individual colours as eyeshadows, favouring the 3 darker shades to do that with and the two lighter ones as a brow highlight.

As you can see from the above swatches the colours are intensely pigmented and have a gorgeous luminosity to them, the shimmer brick is also incredibly soft but has very little fall out. All colours blend really well together to create a really soft golden highlight and when used as eyeshadows they show hardly any sign of creasing, although I have always used them with a primer when I have.

Also I really love the packaging its sleek, sturdy and has a subtle leopard print pattern which for me is amazing as I'm a total sucker for anything leopard print!. Overall I think its a great little product and is so affordable compared to higher end brands that have products with exactly the same concept.

Have you tried Shimmer Bricks? Have you tried any of the Famous ones?

The Body Shop Banana Shampoo and Conditioner

This is one of them shampoos and conditioners I have always heard about but never really took much notice to them, that was until I had 40% off on The Body Shop online and desperately wanted to bump my order to over £30 so I could get free delivery.

The Body Shop Banana Shampoo - 250ml - £4.00
and
The Body Shop Banana Conditioner - 250ml - £4.00

THE SMELL!!! That was the first thing that struck me, it is beautiful and I am not a massive Banana smelling fan but these are dreamy.

The shampoo lathers up really well and feels like you are rubbing liquid silk into your hair, it rinses out easily and leaves your hair feeling really clean. The smell that goes with it is just a bonus, I seriously end up having one of them Herbal Essence moments!.

The conditioner is fab, it glides on easily and you only need a little in fact with this I've noticed a less is more approach is needed for the best results. Using it like this also seems to be keeping both bottles looking level in the usage stakes.
The conditioner leaves your hair feeling really hydrated and moisturised, it is also really easy to rinse out.

After using these and drying my hair its left feeling silky soft, shiny and fresh also when I leave my hair to dry naturally it leaves my curls frizz free and really defined. I really love both the shampoo and conditioner so when they run out I am more than likely going to repurchase them.

Have you tried these? Or any of The Body Shops shampoos and conditioners?

Let me know

MUA Gel Eyeliner and Every Lash Mascara

MUA are one of them make up brands that everyone raves about because of the price of all their items and not to mention the quality, MUA are also one of them brands that keep on giving so you can have an array of make up at your fingertips at a purse friendly price. Whats some of the latest MUA bits to come out of MUA land I hear you say?!.... Gel Eyeliner and Every Lash Mascara of course!.

MUA Gel Eyeliner - £3.00*
MUA Every Lash Mascara - £3.00*

Pictures 1-3 - MUA Gel Eyeliner and Swatch | Picture 4 - Mua Every Lash Mascara | Picture 5 - Natural Lashes | Picture 6 - MUA Gel Eyeliner and One Coat of Every Lash Mascara

So let me start with the Gel eyeliner in Underground, its packaged in a tiny but sturdy plastic pot with a long handled lid that comes apart because it actually houses an eyeliner brush. The product itself is very soft but firm and gives an intense colour when swiped across the eyelid, the brush itself makes the application easy and you can get quite a precise line with it.

I found Underground stayed put for basically the whole day and was really easy to remove when it came to it, overall I would say it is a good everyday eyeliner and at that price you can afford to pick up the other colours too if they take your fancy.

The Every Lash Mascara I have is in Black/Brown and comes in a black and green plastic tube, for me I hate the packaging of this one and if I was to of seen it in store I would have never picked it up but after using it I would definitely repurchase this once it runs out.

I'm not usually one to ever go for Black/Brown mascaras as I find they verge more on the brown side but this one actually verges more on the black side which I am impressed with, I also really like the brush too (which I forgot to photograph!) its a plastic one with really separated bristles that helps really grab hold of the lashes and separate them.
The mascara lasts all day but does tend to flake just a little bit towards the end of the day but that's perfectly fine for me, by that point I'm usually wanting to whip my make up off anyway which I can do with ease as this comes right off. Oh and the best thing about Every Lash? It smells like Apples!.

After having a little nose on the MUA Website I noticed they have £1 off both of these so you can grab them at a bargain £2 each!.

Have you tried any of these? What do you think?

Famous Cosmetics - The Leopard Palette

Famous Cosmetics have recently launched these beautiful palettes, the one I have is The Leopard Palette which features 16 feline inspired colours. They have also launched two other palettes being The Big Cat Eyeshadow Palette and also The Zebra Complete Palette which I really like the look of and may invest in come pay day.

The Leopard Palette - £8.99*

Now I am a sucker for anything leopard print so for me the packaging of this is absolutely purrfect... Sorry I just couldn't resist that!. The palette itself is about the size of my hand so its not overly large and can be stored rather easily, it also features a mirror in the lid and a fold out flap that lets you know the names of all the colours.

The colours in this palette are very me, I'm a massive fan of browns and coppers but even find myself being drawn towards the olive green colour that's in there. Out of the 16 colours there are only about three or four that I will probably rarely use so overall its a very useful palette.

The colours are highly pigmented with even the matte shades having a good colour pay off, they also are butter soft and blend like an absolute charm. They have minimal fallout but this also depends on the type of eyeshadow brush you are using as I've used a couple with the fallout varying with the difference in brush.

Overall I really like this palette and really want to pick up The Zebra Palette like I mentioned above as it features a bronzer and blushers as well as eyeshadows so would be perfect for chucking in my bag for sprucing up my make up or for even weekends away when I'm wanting to save on packing space.

Have you tried any of these palettes? What do you think?

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain in Rendezvous

I know the world and his wife has blogged about these (including myself - Here) but I just can't help myself, I have fallen head over heels in love with them to the point I am grabbing these instead of my ever so trusty Lipsticks. I am of course talking about the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stains.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain in Rendezvous - £7.99

If you have read my original post on the Just Bitten Balm in Darling you will know I love them and also I proclaimed my love above.

I'm drawn to bright colours, I think I maybe own about 10 neutral looking lipsticks so obviously Rendezvous was right up my street. Its a nice orange colour that isn't too garish but nicely sets off a tan and adds a good pop of colour to your lips.

As with all the Just Bitten Lip Balms it has a slight minty fragrance and taste, that wears off fairly quickly but like I said before is a welcomed scent compared to some artificial vanilla and plastic scents some lip products can have.

It moisturises your lips well and they remain moisturised for a very long time afterwards, as it is a balm stain too the colour lasts a very long time averaging around 6-8 hours which is perfect if you don't like to or have time to reapply during the day.

Vaseline Lip Therapy Repair Balm

I'm sure at one point or another we have all used a pot of Vaseline Lip Therapy, they are handy to just pop in your bag to moisturise your lips. Now although they do moisturise your lips for a short time for me it feels like they aren't really cutting the mustard. Vaseline have recently bought out their new Lip Therapy Repair Balm* which I have been trying for the last few weeks.

So the balm comes in a tube form and to me when I first applied it, it felt just like liquid Vaseline... You know when your little tin gets too warm and goes into that greasy goo?. Don't let that put you off though as it is a nice product which has SPF 20 and Shea Butter in to soothe and moisturise your lips.

The only problem I do have with this product is that I have a personal preference of not having things that feel too 'wet' on my lips, hence why I rarely wear lipglosses or overly glossy lipsticks. This does leave you with that glossy finish that I just don't like but it does moisturise your lips a treat and make them feel really soft and nourished, so if you like that sort of look on your lips or can live with it this would probably be a good addition to your lip care.

I have since passed it on to my younger sister who absolutely loves it and takes it everywhere but it just goes to show personal preferences are a big thing when it comes to liking a product even if it does work!.

Vaseline Lip Therapy Repair Balm* Costs £2.99 and can be bought from Tesco, Asda and Wilkinsons

NOTD - Look Beauty Nail Pop in Cool Britannia

First off for anyone who watched the Olympics Closing Ceremony last night, how amazing was it? I couldn't contain my excitement over The Spice Girls... That Right there just made my life. I want to also say a massive well done to team GB, we did amazingly!.

Now Look Beauty have bought out a Limited Edition Nail Pop in Cool Britannia so you can show your patriotic side without having to go full on flags. Its a polish filled with Red, White and Blue glitter... Its ever so pretty.

The polish has a fine glitter pieces in and glides on very easily, giving full coverage in one coat although I prefer to do two so that is what is in the above picture. The white glitter in the polish comes off somewhat silver but the overall effect of the polish is really nice, I love that you can see the flecks of Red and Blue throughout it and when it gets caught by the light your fingers sparkle.

I know getting rid of glitter polish is a pain sometimes but I think this one is easier than a lot of them and comes off by just holding a cotton ball soaked in nail varnish remover for a few seconds. Although if you find that it is or other glitter polishes are I keep a spare cheap clear polish to hand which I paint over and then wipe off with ease.

Have you tried Look Beauty's Nail Pops? What do you think of Cool Britannia?

Famous Cosmetics - High Five Eye Shadow in Marbella Nights

I'm a fan of Famous Cosmetics, especially their Bronzers so when I was asked if I would like to try a few bits from their new range I of course said yes. First up in a series of reviews that will be popping up in the future is the High Five Eye Shadow in Marbella Nights.

I love the packaging of this palette with the glitter leopard print design, the eye shadows themselves are really nice and have quite good pigmentation with minimal fallout.

Although all of the colours are not up my street I particularly like the green and lilac one, all the metallic colours are really buttery soft and apply well and also blend like a dream. The only down side I would say is the matte brown which is slightly chalky and a little harder to blend.

Overall if you are looking for some nice bright colours or are looking for make up for a younger sister or daughter who would enjoy playing about with different colour combinations this is definitely something to get.

Have you tried these? What do you think of the High Five Eye Shadow Palette?

NUXE Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm

A little while ago I went along to have a nose at the new beauty hall in Marks & Spencer in Westfield, Stratford. I was impressed with the wide range of products they had there but when Gem from Flutter and Sparkle made me revert my eyes to the NUXE Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm I knew I had to get it just purely for the hype of the product and to see if it lived up to the claims.

So first off it is packaged in a frosted glass tub which is sturdy and will take a good battering in your bag without it breaking. The smell is amazing, with a whole Terry's Chocolate Orange thing going on and the balm itself is so thick and dreamy you just want to keep on applying.

I suffer with really bad dry lips, that crack and feel so sore so this is a welcomed addition to them. I apply it and within 10 minutes you wouldn't even realise there was a problem with them, it seems to plump them, hydrate them and soothe them while lasting a very long time so you wont have to worry about reapplying every 10 minutes which in therory makes the whole tub last a very long time. I've barely made a dent in mine and I have been using it everyday for the last two months at least.

Have you tried any NUXE products? What else should I try from them?

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain in Darling

As soon as I saw the new Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balms I knew I had to own at least 3 of them, yes I know I have a lip product problem but hey every girl has got to have her kryptonite ;) I'm a massive fan of the original Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain so I had very high hopes for these!.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm in Darling - £7.99

First off I love the dynamics of this balm, it's a twist up pencil type balm within a sturdy plastic casing in the colour of the balm you have chosen which makes it easier to find the colour you are wanting if you have a few of them. They obviously remind me and probably everyone else of a Clinique Chubby Stick in the way they look and in the way they act.

When I first applied this I noticed there was a minty taste and scent to it which was quite welcomed as when you apply some lip products they have that strange plastic taste.
The balm glides on easily and effortlessly, leaving the lips feeling thoroughly moisturised and the fact that it is in the shape of the pencil allows for precise application.

The fact that these balms are also a stain is a massive plus because they give a good intense colour that seems to get a little deeper over a small amount of time, they also last a very long time on me which is between 6-8 hours.

Overall I am really impressed with it and have also bought two other colours, one of which I no doubt will be wearing tonight as I am off out for my birthday which is in fact today!

What do you think of the Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balms? Have you tried them?
